Planned Industrial Construction Projects Fell 7% MoM

Research conducted by the experienced industrial market research team at Industrial SalesLeads shows that 382 new planned industrial projects were tracked in February. Planned industrial project activity declined 7% from January, following a 3% increase from December 2025 to January 2026. The result is a modest month-to-month slowdown after a modest increase at the start of the year.

Largest Planned Industrial Construction Project

During the month of February, our research team identified 34 new General Industrial facility construction projects with an estimated value of $100 million or more.

The largest project is owned by Basin Electric Power Cooperative, who is planning to invest $4 billion for the construction of a 1,500 MW natural gas-fired power plant in WILLIAMS COUNTY, ND. They have recently received approval for the project. Completion is slated for 2030.

Top 10 Tracked Industrial Construction Projects

PENNSYLVANIA: Pharmaceutical company is planning to invest $4 billion for the construction of a 925,000 SF processing campus at 9802 Main St. in FOGELSVILLE, PA. They are currently seeking approval for the project, with completion slated for 2031.

NEW MEXICO: Startup synthetic fuel manufacturer is planning to invest $2 billion for the construction of a processing facility in LOVINGTON, NM. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

TEXAS: Telecommunications service provider is planning to invest $1.3 billion for the construction of a 2 million SF manufacturing, research, and office campus at 5400 Legacy Dr. in PLANO, TX. They are currently seeking approval for the project and will relocate their operations upon completion.

PENNSYLVANIA: Pharmaceutical company is planning to invest $1 billion for the construction of a processing facility in LOWER GWYNEDD TWP., PA. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

SOUTH DAKOTA: Meat processing company is planning to invest $1 billion for the construction of a processing facility in SIOUX FALLS, SD. They are currently seeking approval for the project. They will relocate their operations upon completion in late 2028.

WASHINGTON: Renewable energy company is planning to invest $900 million for the construction of a 400 MW solar farm on a 6,000-acre site in COULEE CITY, WA. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

INDIANA: Steel company is planning to invest $900 million for the expansion and equipment upgrades on their manufacturing facility in GARY, IN. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

WEST VIRGINIA: Energy and environmental technology company is planning to invest $850 million for the construction of a manufacturing facility in MASON COUNTY, WV. They have recently received approval for the project.

 TEXAS: Energy company is planning to invest $617 million for the construction of a 455 MW natural gas-fired power plant at 19014 E Hardy Rd. in HOUSTON, TX. They are currently seeking approval for the project. Completion is slated for 2028.

VIRGINIA: Aerospace component manufacturer is planning to invest $500 million for the construction of an 860,000 SF manufacturing facility in HURT, VA. They have recently received approval for the project.
