The future of manufacturing jobs is not what you think

The future of manufacturing is evolving in response to the changing needs of their customers. This means the stereotypical view of manufacturing jobs (hot, sweaty, located in industrial suburbs) is flipping upside down.

“A shift is happening in manufacturing, bringing humans and machines closer together and making production more responsive to changing needs” says article, The Manufacturing Job of the Future: Clean, Urban and Better Paid.

Factory workers are expected to understand how to work with complicated robots and computer systems which requires skill and training. To attract top talent, manufacturing facilities are developing in urban bustling areas such as Boston, Brussels and New York City.

Manufacturing facilities are also cleaning up by becoming a safer and healthier work environment without oil spills and chemicals in the air. These are just some of many changes that are revolutionizing the manufacturing and supply chain industry.
