YRC Freight announced that Darren Hawkins, 43, has been named senior vice president of sales and marketing, effective January 14, 2013. Hawkins will report directly to Jeff Rogers, president of YRC Freight. Hawkins is returning to YRC Freight, where he previously had an 18-year career and served in a number of roles including director of field sales, service center manager and account executive. Prior to this, he was director of operations at Con-way Freight, where he also formerly served as director of sales. Hawkins holds a bachelor’s degree in transportation and distribution from the University of Memphis. “We are very excited and proud that Darren, a well-respected industry sales leader, will once again be an integral part of our team.
