Mark DeFabis, Indiana-based warehouse owner, elected IWLA chairman of the board

Members of the International Warehouse Logistics Association elected Mark DeFabis, CEO of Integrated Distribution Services, Inc., in Plainfield, Ind., as the 2016-2017 chairman during the 2016 IWLA Convention & Expo. The association also celebrated its 125th Anniversaryduring the March 13-15 event in Orlando, Fla.

DeFabis previously served as the association’s vice chairman and 2016 IWLA Convention Planning Committee chairman. He succeeds Rob Doyle, CWLP, president of Doyle Distribution based in Orlando, Fla., who becomes IWLA immediate past chairman. Doyle will remain a member of the IWLA Executive Committee for 2016-2017.   IWLA members also elected board officers:

  • Clifford Otto, president & CEO for Saddle Creek Logistics Services, in Lakeland, Fla., ascends to vice chairman and chairman-elect from the treasurer position;
  • Frank Anderson, vice president of RBW Logistics, in Augusta, Ga., moves to treasurer from secretary; and
  • Brett Mears, president of Palmer Logistics, in Houston, Texas, will serve as the new IWLA secretary.

DeFabis’ company, Integrated Distribution Services, Inc. (IDS), offers customers integrated logistics services with specialties in retail and direct to consumer fulfillment, intermodal services and transportation management. He also serves as the chairman of the Conexus Indiana Logistics Council. Prior to entering the logistics industry, 25 years ago, DeFabis worked in the public sector as administrator of Economic and Housing Development for the City of Indianapolis and president of the Indianapolis Economic Development Corporation. He is a graduate of Purdue University and the Indiana University Law School.   DeFabis will remain IWLA chairman through the 2017 IWLA Convention & Expo, March 19-21, 2017, in Palm Springs, Calif.
