Cat™ Lift Trucks introduces new tier 4 interim diesel pneumatic tire lift trucks

Cat® Lift Trucks introduced the new series of 22,000 – 36,000 lb. capacity diesel pneumatic tire lift trucks. Equipped with a high-performance Perkins™ 1204E 4.4L engine, the DP100N – DP160N series offers increased fuel efficiency, reduced emissions and a lower overall operating cost, in addition to meeting the current Tier 4 interim regulation standards from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

“The Cat DP100N-DP160N models are built with the high-performance Perkins 1204E 4.4L diesel engine, which offers 13 percent greater fuel efficiency than the previous generation.” said Lucas Dumdie, product line manager at Cat Lift Trucks. “This pneumatic tire lift truck series is designed to deliver the exceptional power, performance and reliability that customers need to tackle harsh material handling applications. Combined with a fuel-efficient engine, customers can expect even lower fuel costs without sacrificing on performance.”

With 22,000-36,000 lb. lift capacities, these heavy-duty lift trucks are ideal for lumber, steel and pipe, fabricated metals and concrete applications. The new lift truck models also provide customers with numerous features and benefits, including:

· High-Performance And Efficient Engine. The DP100N – DP160N forklift series features the Perkins 1204E 4.4L diesel twin turbo-charged four-cylinder engine that exceeds EPA Tier 4 interim regulations. The operator can engage the fuel-saver mode feature by flipping a switch on the dash. This limits the acceleration curve of the truck but not the top speeds. This helps increase fuel efficiency by as much as 14 percent while still performing at high levels and contributing to lower overall cost of ownership of the forklift.

· Maximum Uptime. These lift trucks feature a diesel particulate filter (DPF) that is designed to passively burn off soot as needed during normal operation – allowing operators to work more effectively without stopping for routine maintenance. Featuring a standard engine protection system, this lift truck series also notifies operators if engine oil pressure, coolant temperature or transmission fluid temperatures reach critical levels. The system automatically lowers maximum RPMs and slows travel and hydraulic speeds when the truck is not performing at acceptable levels, effectively reducing the potential for damage or costly repairs.

· Serviceability. In addition to the 500-hour service intervals, these forklifts can be fully-serviced by local Cat lift truck dealer technicians. This includes any maintenance required throughout the lift truck – including the Perkins 1204E diesel engine.

· Superior Operator Comfort. Operator comfort and control is important when handling heavy loads. This series features a three-section hydraulic control valve with fingertip controls, full-suspension seat and noise and vibration reduction features that help maximize operator comfort. The lift trucks also come standard with a hydrostatic steering system to help minimize operator effort and a raised floor mat for additional traction in the operator compartment.
