Westfalia Technologies, Inc. announces that president, Dan Labell, has been named to the “Food Logistics Champions: Rock Stars of the Supply Chain” list. This inaugural award recognizes Labell for his leadership in delivering warehouse automation technology that enables food and beverage companies to move goods with maximum efficiency and traceability in order to deliver fresh, high-quality products.

Presented by Food Logistics, this award identifies influential individuals in the food/beverage industry whose achievements, hard work, and vision have shaped and continue to attain milestones in safety, efficiency, productivity and innovation throughout the global food supply chain. Behind Labell’s expertise and Westfalia’s automation solutions – including its high-density automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) and Savanna.NET® Warehouse Execution System (WES) – food and beverage manufacturers and distributors are optimizing their warehouse processes, maximizing efficiencies and realizing new savings.

“For food and beverage companies, customer satisfaction and trust are the key ingredients for success,” said Dan Labell, president, Westfalia Technologies. “AS/RS is helping these companies reach this goal by expediting product movement, minimizing damage and spoilage, and increasing throughput. At the same time, software, like Warehouse Execution Systems, is facilitating accurate inventory management and product traceability, giving food manufacturers and distributors a new level of warehouse efficiency and productivity.”

Lara L. Sowinski, editor-in-chief, Food Logistics, said, “From early pioneers and entrepreneurs to non-conformist thinkers and executive standouts, this award aims to honor these leaders and their contributions to our industry. Moreover, leadership, innovation and influence reveals itself in numerous ways and not only at the executive level. This new award is our way of celebrating the talented trailblazers and inspirational mentors whose work deserves acknowledgement and appreciation.”
