U.S. Xpress Enterprises has been honored as Dollar Tree’s 2012 dedicated carrier of the year.  This distinction is based on exceptional performance at Dollar Tree’s Berwick, Pennsylvania distribution center serviced by U.S. Xpress. This award – given to one of its distribution sites annually by the large discount retail chain – recognizes excellence in a wide range of relevant key performance indicators, including on-time service performance, tractor utilization, claims, surge support, customer service, productivity and overall efficiency. U.S. Xpress provides dedicated carriage services at three of Dollar Tree’s nine locations, leveraging its vast retail JIT direct-store driver unload delivery experience and scalable capacity for volume surges, to meet the retail giant’s transportation needs. U.S. Xpress has approximately 135 drivers at the Berwick site making deliveries throughout the Northeast. The U.S. Xpress-managed Dollar Tree distribution center in Savannah, GA placed second in this year’s DC rankings. “We are proud of the exceptional work and track record U.S. Xpress has with Dollar Tree,” said U.S. Xpress Dedicated Services Senior Vice President – Sales, Paul Bowman. “But more importantly, we are proud of the strong working relationship, trust and teamwork that exist between our companies. Our ability to place first and second in terms of performance, in an extremely demanding delivery environment, is a testament to the spirit of partnership Dollar Tree and U.S. Xpress have worked hard to develop and cultivate.” U.S. Xpress offers each of its dedicated services customers an individualized solution based on joint planning, the establishment of mutually agreeable objectives, frequent communication and continuous improvement.
