Holland partners with Hiring Our Heroes and FASTPORT to hire 500 Veterans

Listen to this article

Holland has announced a commitment to hire 500 veterans to accommodate its growth and expansion. “America is at a turning point with an estimated one million veterans returning home in the next five years,” said Scott Ware, president of Holland. “Our business is expanding and job opportunities abound. Holland is proud to welcome home our veterans with great career prospects.”

“The Holland core values of integrity, respect, excellence and hard work personify the values and work ethic of our veterans,” continued Ware. “Veterans fit in well with the Holland culture, and we are proud to partner with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes and FASTPORT to help find great talent.”

Founded in Holland, Mich. in 1929, Holland provides industry-leading, on-time reliability for next-day less-than-truckload shipments in the Central and Southeastern United States and Eastern Canada. Holland provides full-state regional delivery from 57 service centers in twelve states and two provinces: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Wisconsin, as well as Ontario and Quebec, Canada.

“We are thrilled Holland has increased their commitment to hire more veterans,” said Eric Eversole, vice president at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and executive director of Hiring Our Heroes. “The trucking industry is a great fit for veterans. We look forward to working together to help Holland find and employ more talented veterans and transitioning service men and women.”

“Holland represents the new American trucking industry,” said Bill McLennan, CEO of FASTPORT. “Over 60% of the driving jobs at Holland are local. Professional drivers who work for Holland are service-focused with a mission of on-time and safe shipment deliveries that our veterans understand and appreciate. We are delighted to be partnered with Holland to help them find great veteran talent.”
