The Women In Trucking (WIT) Association announced the return of Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, LLC for a third annual Gold Level Partnership.

Since 2011, Bendix has committed to supporting the organization as a top level partner with Andreea Raaber, Vice President for Business Development, serving on the board of directors. “In ever greater numbers, women are joining the trucking industry and demonstrating leadership at all levels,” Raaber said. “The Women In Trucking Association is playing a vital role in this important transformation, as it helps women realize their great potential for success in the industry. At Bendix, we are grateful for WIT and its commitment, proud to be a supporter of its mission, and very pleased to again offer our corporate support.”

“Gold Level Partners are committed to creating positive change in the trucking industry by providing a higher level of financial support along with industry expertise on the organization’s leadership team,” said Ellen Voie, WIT President/CEO. “Bendix, through Andreea, has been influential in helping Women In Trucking achieve some amazing goals in the organization’s short history.”

The mission of the nonprofit organization is to encourage women to consider careers in the trucking industry, address obstacles that might keep women from succeeding, and to celebrate the success of its members.

In addition to the annual “Salute to Women Behind the Wheel” to honor female professional drivers, WIT recognizes an “Influential Woman in Trucking” recipient. Recently, a “Best Recruiting Ad” contest was held to highlight best practices in driver recruiting. Other member programs include a job board, a list of Women’s Business Enterprises, a weekly e-newsletter, and an award winning publication “Redefining the Road.”

Future goals for the association include a Women in Transportation conference, social media application, and a WIT Mall, in addition to other initiatives to promote the mission of the nonprofit organization.
