DePaul senior Modupe Sanusi named inaugural recipient

Gebrüder Weissa global freight forwarder with a core business of overland transport, air, and sea freight and logistics, has established a new five-year scholarship at DePaul University to support undergraduate students preparing for leadership roles in supply chain and logistics through the Richard H. Driehaus College of Business.

Gebrüder Weiss selected DePaul for the partnership because of the university’s innovative approach to supply chain education and the caliber of its students. DePaul’s management curriculum exposes students to real logistics challenges, data-informed decision-making, and hands-on learning. The program also emphasizes service and community engagement, aligning with Gebrüder Weiss’ commitment to giving back.

Modupe Sanusi, a senior in DePaul’s Richard H. Driehaus College of Business, has been named the Gebrüder Weis scholarship recipient. Sanusi is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in management and is expected to graduate in June.

“Developing future supply chain leaders requires sustained investment in education and strong alignment between academia and industry,” said Mark McCullough, CEO of Gebrüder Weiss North America. “This scholarship reflects our long-term commitment to supporting students who are building the skills and perspective needed to lead complex supply chains. We are proud to partner with DePaul University and to recognize Modupe Sanusi as the first student selected for this program.”

Congratulations to Modupe Sanusi for receiving the inaugural Gebrüder Weiss Scholarship at DePaulWe are deeply grateful to Gebrüder Weiss for their generous scholarship support, which demonstrates their commitment to developing the next generation of supply chain leaders in Chicago and beyond,” said Nezih Altay, professor and director of the master’s in supply chain management program.

“The Gebrüder Weiss scholarship will help me complete the remaining courses at DePaul and move closer to graduation. With this financial stress lifted, I can focus fully on my academics and securing an internship so I can begin making a positive impact in my field,” Sanusi said.

The DePaul scholarship expands Gebrüder Weiss’ academic partnerships in the United States, which focus on strengthening the supply chain talent pipeline by supporting students pursuing leadership-focused logistics and management education.
