Cardinal Kinetic’s InoDrive™ is an all-in-one motion control card for high-precision servo applications

Listen to this article

Cardinal Kinetic’s InoDrive™ is a networked, integrated motion control card that delivers highly reliable, accurate, and precise control of brushless DC servo motors in a wide range of industrial environments. As the core hardware component of the company’s InoWorx™ Motion Control Platform, InoDrive™ simplifies servo system design while offering robust performance, flexibility, and ease of deployment.

InoDrive™ combines the full capabilities of a servo amplifier, motion controller, and logic engine into a single compact unit. When paired with the InoWorx Programmer™, the company’s drag-and-drop, code-free interface, the result is a motion control platform that delivers reliable, accurate, and precise motion with minimal setup time.

“The InoWorx™ platform, with InoDrive™ at its core, gives engineers and non-engineers alike everything they need to achieve high-performance results,” said Will Morgan, Director of Product Management at Cardinal Kinetic. “It removes the complexity that traditionally slows down deployment and makes precision motion more accessible than ever.”

Key Features & Benefits of InoDrive™:

  • Compact and Robust Design: Its sleek form factor conserves space, while its industrial-grade construction ensures durability in harsh environments.
  • Integrated Capabilities: Combines servo amplification, motion control, and logic processing into a single device, streamlining your hardware requirements.
  • High Compatibility: Supports a wide range of brushless DC servo motors up to 400 watts (1kW peak) and integrates seamlessly with various sensors and peripherals.
  • Advanced Safety Features: Includes dual-channel STO, overcurrent protection, temperature monitoring, and fault diagnostics to safeguard your operations.
  • Scalable, Synchronized Motion: InoSync™ technology enables multiple InoDrive™ modules to be synchronized via Ethernet for coordinated, multi-axis applications.
  • Quick Deployment: Reduce setup times with an out-of-the-box solution that’s ready to integrate. It eliminates the need for standalone control panels, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and costly software licenses. Its plug-and-play design ensures quick installation and minimal downtime.

InoDrive™ is ideally suited for OEMs and system integrators working in automation, robotics, packaging, mobile equipment, and R&D environments, particularly where space is limited, setup time is critical, and precision motion is crucial.
