Listen to this article

As the nation observes National Safety Month this June, Riekes Equipment is stepping up with a local initiative that could save lives.

Riekes is giving away five free forklift operator training certifications in honor of National Forklift Safety Day on June 10, 2025. This annual awareness day is organized by the Industrial Truck Association (ITA) and is meant to draw national attention to workplace safety, operator training and the value of safety education.

Winners will be selected from all entries on June 18, 2025, and can attend a forklift certification class in Omaha, Nebraska at no charge. The total value of the giveaway is $600. Enter here.

“Forklifts are the most common—and some of the most dangerous—tools in material handling,” said Nicholas Cook, Riekes Training Manager. “We offer safety training for forklifts, crane operators and even aerial lifts because training saves lives. OSHA estimates that between 35,000 and 62,000 injuries occur annually involving forklifts. And since many of those could have been avoided with proper training, we are always looking for ways to make an investment in our community to improve forklift operator safety.”
