SUN Automation Group bolsters team after Kolbus America Acquisition

SUN Automation Group® has welcomed key industry talent following execution of the sales agency and distributorship agreement of Kolbus Corrugated Products for the United States and Canada. Adding Kolbus’ proven German engineering and innovation under SUN’s trusted leadership and aftermarket strengthens SUN’s ability to deliver best-in-class solutions and service to the corrugated marketplace. These strategic hires bring decades of industry expertise and a shared commitment to delivering unmatched sales, service, and technical support to SUN’s customers.

Phil Eads

Phil Eads joins SUN as Technical Manager, bringing 35 years of experience in the corrugated packaging industry, including 32 years with Bobst. Eads’s expertise in both sales and technical service will enhance SUN’s ability to deliver top-tier support and maximize equipment performance for its customers. 

“I was initially drawn to Kolbus for its strong German engineering solutions, and I’m thrilled to continue supporting customers with SUN’s global service and innovation,” said Eads. “Providing top-tier customer support and technical excellence has always been my passion, and I look forward to bringing that dedication to the SUN team.”

Ryan Clark also joins SUN as Capital Equipment Sales Manager, with eight years of corrugated experience and a proven record of building strong customer relationships. A former professional golfer and U.S. Army veteran, Clark’s competitive mindset and industry knowledge will be crucial in expanding SUN’s reach and strengthening customer partnerships.

“I’m excited to bring my experience and customer-first mindset to the SUN team,” said Clark. “SUN’s commitment to delivering high-quality equipment and exceptional service aligns with my approach to helping customers find the right solutions for their operations.”

SUN has also expanded its service team, with Daniel Medina, Bob Bucko, and James Vantine as service technicians. Their expertise strengthens SUN’s seamless, end-to-end customer support, ensuring equipment operates at peak performance and minimizing downtime.
