Purolator International has announced its President John T. Costanzo will speak on a panel of Experts at the Heartland Shippers Conference in Minneapolis on April 17.  His area of expertise is U.S. – Canadian Trade Compliance Solutions.  “There is a surge in demand for logistics experience and expertise in transporting goods between the United States and Canada,” said Mr. Costanzo.  “A growing number of U.S. businesses are recognizing the opportunities and growth potential that exist in the Canadian market.  Canada is currently the United States’ largest goods trading partner with 18.9 percent of overall U.S. exports going to Canada in 2012.  Last year, trade with Canada increased by 3.4% and totaled over $291 billion in exports and over $324 billion in imports.” The U.S. Midwest is home to major manufacturing, agriculture, and a significant consumer market of over 66 million people. Conversely, getting cargo in and out of the nation’s heartland is challenging for a variety of reasons.  The Heartland Shippers Conference will address these themes among others pertinent to the global supply chain’s vital connection to the region and its developing infrastructure. Close to 350 professionals who control the movement of cargo in and out of the U.S. Midwest, and those who service them are expected to attend the Heartland Shippers Conference.
