Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America deepens Customer Service support with two Staff Promotions

The Corrugating Machinery Division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America just announced two new staff promotions that will deepen and build upon its industry-leading customer service support. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America (MHIA) is a supplier of Corrugating and Box Making machinery.

has been promoted to Vice President, Service, overseeing the company’s Customer Service Department, Parts Sales Department and Rebuild Department to ensure timely and appropriate resolution to customer requests.

Phillips, a 20-year industry veteran, joined the company in 2002 as Field Service Engineer, and has served in increasingly responsible positions, including Customer Service Engineer; Manager, Customer Service; and Director, Customer Service. Prior to joining MHIA, he worked for United Container as Parts Sales Representative and Customer Technical

Support and, earlier, as Field Engineer at Langston Corrugated, where he installed and serviced Corrugated machinery across the United States, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, South America, and Australia.

Phillips is a graduate of the Control Data Institute, attended the Rochester Institute of Technology, and has served in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Ryan Murphy has been promoted to Manager, Customer Service. Murphy joined MHIA in January 2017 as a Customer Services Engineer. In that capacity, he worked with customers across North America, collaborating with the Field Service Engineers to work on more than 130  EVOLs and Corrugating machines, including a Project Engineer, Customer Service Engineers and 28 Field Service Engineers across the country.

Murphy also trained new employees in reading mechanical and electrical drawings, conducting proper customer communication, and understanding the design and function protocols of EVOL. He began his career in sales engineering at CaptiveAire Systems and received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland’s Clark School of Engineering.

This latest round of customer service staff promotions, coming on the heels of MHIA’s recent personnel additions and promotions in its engineering and technical services areas, will enable the company to maintain its industry-best support for its growing customer roster.
