Flow-Rite Named One of “West Michigan’s Best and Brightest”

Best and Brightest Companies to Work For® has selected Flow-Rite Controls for a second consecutive year as one of the 2018 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For® in West Michigan.

After poor results from the 2014 Best and Brightest survey, Flow-Rite embarked on a people driven journey. This created the vision, mission, and values now engrained within the organization. Management sees the survey another tool to help measure and quantify what is important to the associates and how they can continue to improve.

Following last year’s recognition, one of Flow-Rite’s biggest changes was in the name of work-life balance. For the first time, Flow-Rite offered the option of condensed summer work weeks. Associates had the opportunity to work 10 hour days Monday through Thursday to be able to have Fridays off and enjoy their summer with longer weekends.

“For the first time in 2017, we were selected as one of the Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in West Michigan. This was a great accomplishment, but our work had only just begun. The results from the survey are vital to our daily operations. Flow-Rite is a continuous improvement/continuous learning environment. Management is able to take these results and see what is advantageous or ineffective when it comes to supporting the associates,” said Todd Hart, Executive Vice President.

“We are thrilled to have been selected for a consecutive year; the honor showcases all of the efforts by everyone at Flow-Rite to create a culture people genuinely enjoy being a part of as well as giving associates the opportunities and fulfillment they seek from an employer.”

The Best and Brightest Companies to Work For® is a program that provides the business community with the opportunity to gain recognition, showcase their best practices and demonstrate why they are an ideal place for employees to work. This national program celebrates those companies that are making better business, creating richer lives and building a stronger community as a whole.

“Companies that recognize that their employees are the key to their success achieve staying power’” said Jennifer Kluge, President and CEO of Best and Brightest programs. “Our 2018 winners create their human resource standards to ensure employee satisfaction, and thy set standards for every business to aspire toward.”

An awards banquet will be held May 3 at JW Marriott Grand Rapids, at 235 Louis St. NW. The association will present the awards and name a group of 13 “elite winners” at the event.
