Toyota Forklifts offers a new solution with heavy-duty product expansion

Listen to this article

Toyota Forklifts is raising the bar with its newest additions to the THD product line. The forklift manufacturer announced the launch of their adjustable wheelbase forklifts with the capacity to lift from 15,000 to 80,000 pounds.

Named for the horizontally adjustable wheelbase, the newest cushion tire forklift to hit manufacturing floors this year is unlike any other Toyota forklift. Small enough to navigate tight spaces and strong enough to lift up to 80,000 pounds when fully extended, it adds safety and confidence to lifting large, bulky and oddly shaped loads like machinery. And with its stacked plate counterweight and low profile design, it can go into locations conventional forklifts cannot access.   Along with the unique horizontally adjustable wheelbase, the new Heavy-Duty model features rigger boom attachments for additional load support, a 2-speed hydrostatic transmission and a 7-inch color LCD multi-function touch screen to increase productivity, efficiency and convenience.   The new Heavy-Duty adjustable wheelbase models include:

  • Wheelbase extendable from 36 inches to 48 inches depending on model
  • Quick change fork system
  • Multiple display features
  • Onboard estimated capacity calculator
  • Engine fault code diagnostics and troubleshooting guides
  • Operators and service manuals loaded in the display
  • Dual fuel engines
  • Electronically activated hydraulic controls

The newest models also feature an optional wireless remote control for operating the forklift outside of the normal seating position, which includes travel, steering and lifting functions. The optional wireless remote control allows the operator to guide the forklift precisely under the load for those high value moves, and can reduce the amount of spotters needed for a job.   This expansion is the fourth since launching the Heavy-Duty product line in 2015.
