Dematic introduces enhanced goods-to-person solution

Dematic, a global supplier of integrated automated technology, software and services to optimize the supply chain, introduces an enhanced Goods-to-Person (GTP) solution to provide a smarter, faster ergonomic order fulfillment engine. This modular, turnkey solution combines the secure, high-density inventory management benefits of Dematic Multishuttle® with the compact, high-speed advantages of patented inter-Aisle Transfer (iAT) capability.

“Industries with high SKU volumes — such as those in auto parts, electronics and cosmetics markets — will especially benefit from our enhanced Dematic Goods-to-Person solution,” said Mike Khodl, vice president of global solution management. “Its dynamic, compact design manages inventory accurately and delivers items to pickers quickly. This allows our customers to extend their order cutoff times, speed up shipping and delivery windows, and even enables them to expand into new service areas.”

The benefits of Dematic GTP go far beyond its compact size. Additional features include:

  • Turnkey setup and simple scalability with modular design. Our solution is a modular pre-engineered system that is easily deployed in either a greenfield or brownfield facility as a stand-alone system or integrated into a larger solution. It provides a rapid return on investment and can easily be expanded with minimum disruption.
  • Flexible functionality with multi-function workstation. The Dematic multi-function workstation performs a variety of functions including decanting, replenishment, picking and packing. Equipped with a built-in scale, it ensures accuracy and rapid fulfillment.
  • Eliminates costly slotting and re-slotting with agile inventory. Because iAT can dynamically reposition inventory, there is no need to spend time analyzing movement history to determine appropriate storage locations. Dematic iQ software analytics position inventory in real time, moving the right product to the right location at the right time, while providing KPI monitoring for transparent operation.
