WERC presents webinar on how ALAN supports disaster responses

Hurricanes in the Southeast. Wildfires in the West. The onslaught of disasters that battered the U.S. throughout 2018 was seemingly relentless.

Also relentless, however, is the coordinated help and support provided by the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN), an industry-wide organization that exists to provide supply chain assistance to disaster relief organizations and other non-profits. Because when disaster strikes, few things are more important than good logistics; it’s the key to quickly coordinating a unified response that delivers life-saving aid to survivors as fast as possible.

Join Kathy Fulton, ALAN’s Executive Director, on Friday, December 14th  for this 30-minute webinar recapping how the warehousing and material handling communities has stepped up throughout 2018 to offer space, services and equipment in response to disasters. She’ll share stories of what happens “after the donation” and how non-profits make use of donated services.

Webinar participants will learn what types of support is needed (and what isn’t), as well as how individuals and companies can make a difference for disaster survivors now and in the future. Additionally, Fulton will explain how ALAN connects businesses with information and resources to help them prepare for, respond to and recover from crises.

Targeted to chief supply chain officers, risk management and asset protection professionals, and sustainability or corporate philanthropy executives, attendees will find out how to get involved both locally and nationally, as well as increase their knowledge about how to best support disaster relief.
