TVH acquires UK-based IPS

Listen to this article

On August 13th 2019, TVH Parts Holding NV (TVH), one of the world’s largest suppliers of material handling, industrial and agricultural equipment parts and accessories headquartered in Belgium, acquired the shares of UK-based company Independent Parts & Service Ltd (IPS), dealer in access platform replacement parts (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms – MEWPs) and outrigger pads. With this acquisition, TVH significantly increases its technical knowledge and commercial reach in the UK.

Just yesterday, Dominiek Valcke (CEO TVH Parts), Kevin Shadbolt (Managing Director IPS and previous IPS co-owner) and the other IPS shareholders, officially shook hands on the acquisition of IPS, which was established in 2001 in Telford (UK) and mainly targets the UK market. Through this acquisition of IPS, TVH will further strengthen its position in the UK.

For the time being, TVH and IPS will continue to work as usual, while making the necessary preparations for further collaboration and integration. Kevin Shadbolt will continue to manage IPS and grow the access platform parts range within TVH UK. Kevin Shadbolt on the acquisition: “We’re welcoming the acquisition, as it brings clear opportunities and benefits for both our customers and the IPS team. Our meetings with the TVH team are very constructive, and I am looking forward to an ambitious future together.”

Prior to the acquisition of IPS in the UK, TVH Parts acquired IPS France (2014) and IPS Australia (2015). With the acquisition of IPS UK, Dominiek Valcke is confident TVH’s customer service will be even better: “We are very proud that the IPS team is joining TVH Parts, and we are convinced that through the acquisition of IPS, we will significantly strengthen our technical expertise and commercial knowledge in MEWP replacement parts. As a group, we will be able to offer our customers better technical knowledge and support as well as a more extensive product portfolio.”
