TVH acquires Global Equipment Monitoring (GEM)

TVH Australia has acquired the shares of Global Equipment Monitoring (GEM).

GEM has built a very successful business and is considered a leader in the telematics field. For almost 10 years, GEM has provided monitoring solutions, both hardware and software, for forklifts, aerial work platforms and construction equipment worldwide.

A TVH statement says the acquisition of GEM allows the Belgium-headquartered global parts supplier to offer new services and technologies to customers. “With the products from GEM added to our existing product range, we can help (customers) improve equipment fleet control, site efficiency, security, equipment service scheduling, etc,” according to the statement.

GEM, based in Balmain in Sydney, provides products, solutions and advice “that help make better business for equipment manufacturers, equipment dealers and product users”.

GEM also has operations in Prospect, Kentucky, in the United States.

Details of the financials behind the deal were not disclosed.
