With more than 30 years of experience and expertise in the Explosion Proof (EX) lift truck market, RICO Manufacturing, Inc. (RICO) has aligned with Hyster-Yale Group, Inc. (HYG) to convert their 6,000 lbs. capacity electric counterbalance lift truck to a certified RICO EX model. Available in both Hyster® and Yale® versions, this conversion will emphasize a safe, quality vehicle with a quick turnaround.
EX forklift trucks are imperative in industries such as aerospace, automotive, chemical, petroleum, construction, food, pharmaceuticals and plastics with operating areas where lift trucks may be exposed to explosive gases and combustible dust. These potentially dangerous areas are determined by the Authority Having Jurisdiction, such as a Fire Marshal or an insurance company.
The RICO EX lift truck will further HYG dealers’ ability to provide an industry-focused solution tailored to these specific working environments. No strangers to working together, RICO and HYG collaborated in 2017 when Hyster® and Yale® dealers became exclusive distributors of the RICO Standard Pegasus Elite line of large-capacity, cushion-tire electric and internal-combustion counterbalance trucks.
“Although these two EX models are exclusive to Hyster® and Yale®, RICO continues to offer a full line of EX products to all dealers,” says Steve Shuck, President of RICO Manufacturing, Inc. “Our certified EX conversions have been developed for operation in Class 1 – Division 1 & 2 Group D (gas) and Class 2 – Division 1 & 2 Group G (dust) environments.”
