Modernfold, Inc. announces details of Dyersville, Iowa factory expansion

As part of its continuing program to increase production capacity and improve overall efficiency, Modernfold, Inc. is launching a major expansion at its manufacturing facility in Dyersville, Iowa.

The project is identified as Dyersville Next Century in a salute to the company’s upcoming 100-year anniversary. Increased productivity and capacity at the plant will support future sales growth and help bring industry-leading technological innovation and coming new product releases to an eager market.

Building construction permits have been approved by the City of Dyersville, with groundbreaking slated for early October 2018. The work is expected to continue through the end of the 2020 calendar year. It will include a 29,000-sq.-ft. expansion to the main building and the installation of substantial new machinery and equipment, all contributing to the project’s intended boost to output and efficiency. First elements of the addition are expected to be ready for use in February 2019.

In anticipation of the expansion, Modernfold has ramped up hiring for direct, full-time employment steadily since the beginning of 2018. Further workforce increases are expected to bolster the workforce in support of the overall capacity plan. The Dyersville plant currently operates on a two-shift basis.

“Our existing footprint and equipment have served us well,” said Modernfold Managing Director Bryan Welch. “However, the new processes and added space will provide benefits that are not available today and open the door to powerful new capabilities at the site.”
