Miller Fabrication Solutions opens doors to inspire Next Generation of Workers for Manufacturing Day

Miller Fabrication Solutions, a strategic metal fabrication partner for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) across construction equipment, mining equipment, material handling and conveying equipment and other industries, will open its doors to the public as part of Manufacturing Day? on Friday, October 5. Tours will run every 30 minutes from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. EDT at its two Brookville, PA locations. The day will also feature a job fair, where interested candidates can apply onsite for positions and experience a Miller Virtual Reality (VR) simulation.

Miller’s involvement in Manufacturing Day will include demonstrations of various forms of metal manufacturing, such as laser cutting with the ARKU Flatmaster 120®, robotic and manual welding, machining, coating, and mechanical assembly. Interactive question-and-answer opportunities will be available during each guided tour.

“We always look forward to Manufacturing Day. It’s our opportunity to show the community the breadth and depth of the type of metal fabrications we do here, so that future workers may be encouraged to find their calling in manufacturing,” says Eric D. Miller, president of Miller Fabrication Solutions. “At the same time, we’ll be hosting a job fair to introduce the public to the wide array of open positions currently available – from welder to press operator to quality control technician.”

Manufacturing represents the largest employment industry in Jefferson County, PA, according to 2017 annual averages from the Pennsylvania Center for Workforce Information & Analysis. Miller employs 400 people throughout the Western Pennsylvania region, ranking it within the top 10 employers in the county. Recently, the company was named among the country’s top 10 fabricators in The Fabricator Magazine’s 2018 Fab 40 list.

Manufacturing Day is an annual celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. Started in 2012 and sponsored by the National Association of Manufacturers, the celebration invites members of the community across the country — including students, educators, businesspeople, media, and politicians — to manufacturing facilities in a collective effort to educate visitors about manufacturing career opportunities and improve public awareness of the profession.
