The Women In Trucking Association (WIT) announced today that PACCAR has renewed its Gold Level Partnership for 2022. This valuable partnership will help the non-profit association continue to empower women to develop careers in the transportation industry, promote their accomplishments, and minimize the obstacles they face.

In addition to providing financial support since becoming a Gold Level Partner in 2019, the company actively participates in the association. Michele Rodgers, Peterbilt Engineering Section Manager, serves on the WIT Board of Directors.

“PACCAR Women’s Association promotes gender equality and supports individual empowerment. Its mission is to provide resources through education, networking, and mentoring to employees. The Women in Trucking Gold Level Partnership will continue to facilitate interaction and organized activities, supporting women and leadership,” said PACCAR VP and CIO, Lily Ley.

“We have seen positive changes in the truck cab design because of PACCAR’s efforts to provide a more ergonomic and driver-friendly cab for all of our professional drivers,” said Ellen Voie, president and CEO of WIT. “Influential industry leaders like PACCAR, driven by a passion for diversity, play a vital role in advancing the WIT mission and affecting real change within the transportation industry.”

Founded in 2007, the Women In Trucking Association is a resource for more than 5,500 corporate and individual members located in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, as well as Japan, Australia, Sweden, South Africa, and New Zealand. Recent accomplishments include participating in White House and FMCSA roundtables; launching its driver ambassador expo trailer, which promotes truck driving as a career; supporting new female drivers through its mentorship program with LeadHERalliance; and more than 800 registered attendees at 2021 Accelerate! Conference and Exhibition.
