UniCarriers Americas Corporation (UCA) grows its business in Brazil by appointing Anderson Silva to logistics coordinator and Rafael Nishino to coordinator of planning and purchases for its South American subsidiary, UniCarriers Corporation South America (UCSA).

As the logistics coordinator, Silva is responsible for coordinating all of UCSA’s truck orders and logistic jobs, including trucks and parts importation, inbound processing and working with brokers and freight forwarders.

Prior to joining UCSA, Silva worked for Fiat do Brasil S/A as a foreign trade leader. He also has past logistics experience coordinating importation activities to ensure that foreign trade activities met the current legislation to support Doosan Infracore South America business’ heavy-construction machines division.

Silva earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Unopec Butant, São Paolo. He also has an MBA in foreign trade and international business. In addition to his native language of Portuguese, Silva is also fluent in English.

As the planning and purchases coordinator, Rafael Nishino is responsible for coordinating and planning spare parts orders of the complementary supplies for the office and warehouses, as well as developing local suppliers to provide better customer service for dealers and end users.

Prior to joining UCSA, Nishino acquired planning and purchasing experience while working for Hyundai Motors, Bombardier Recreational Products and Honda Motorcycle da Amazônia. Nishino earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanics from Paulista University in São Paulo, Brazil. In addition to Portuguese, Nishino is also fluent in English and Japanese.

“Anderson and Rafael are two exciting additions to UCSA’s growth in Brazil,” said Newton Santos, Brazil sales operations manager for UCSA. “Both come from strong backgrounds of problem-solving, customer service and quality assurance within their respective fields.”

UCSA established operations in Brazil in January 2014, although its brands have had a presence in the market for decades.
