Yale earns spot on Green Supply Chain List for fifth year

For the fifth consecutive year, Yale Materials Handling Corporation has been selected by Inbound Logistics for its list of 75 Green Supply Chain Partners (G75). The publication chose Yale for its leadership in sustainable and innovative materials handling equipment.

Inbound Logistics’ 75 Green Supply Chain Partners profiles companies that demonstrate a commitment to sustainable supply chain, logistics and transportation practices. Companies are selected based on criteria of measurable green results, sustainability innovation, continuous improvement and industry recognition.

“This acknowledgment further validates Yale’s ongoing commitment to green initiatives,” said David McNeill, Manager of Product Strategy, Yale. “Our newest green initiative, an Advanced Performance Power System (APPS) powered by lithium-ion battery technology, offers a battery solution that is not only environmentally friendly, but provides an efficient and productivity enhancing option for our customers.”

Earlier this year, Yale made headlines as the first commercially available Underwriters Laboratories (UL) recognized lithium-ion battery pack in the forklift industry. The new lithium-ion option is designed to last up to five times longer than traditional lead acid batteries, does not contain toxic acid and is environmentally friendly. With an extended run time, excellent charging capabilities and a small footprint, the lithium-ion battery provides an efficient and productive power alternative for retail, beverage and food delivery applications.
