UniCarriers Americas held its fourth annual supplier conference. Attended by more than 75 suppliers, the conference highlighted results from 2015 and potential growth opportunities for the future. It also served as a networking opportunity for suppliers and UniCarriers Americas employees.

The conference focused on continuing to develop a solid relationship with suppliers and allowed UniCarriers Americas to set expectations for the future, with a goal to strengthen the supply chain.

Some of this year’s highlights included UCA sharing its goal of becoming a $1 billion dollar business by 2020 with the help of its dedicated suppliers. UCA also shared some of the keys for what made the previous fiscal year a success, which included its commitment to solving problems, reducing costs, improving processes and sharing savings.

“Our suppliers are incredibly reliable partners who have gone above and beyond to set the standard for the rest of the supply base,” said John Arnold, director, supplier management for UniCarriers Americas. “We continue to be a company to partner and grow with, and our partners within the supply chain have become one of UCA’s biggest competitive advantages.”

Other highlights from the conference included two guest speakers representing UCA suppliers. Yutaka Amada, president of Leading Americas, spoke about how its partnership with UCA influenced the company to establish warehouse operations in Marengo and how he believes UCA’s growth will, in turn, influence Leading Harness Americas’ growth.

Charles Vogl, president of Northfield Industries, spoke about what it takes to be a successful UCA supplier and how his company aims its focus on making UCA’s customers happy. Vogl also explained how the benefits of his UCA partnership helped lead to Northfield expanding its operations overseas.

UniCarriers Americas hosts the annual supplier conference to communicate its corporate vision and goals to suppliers as well as recognize top-performing partners with supplier excellence awards.
