Superior Tire & Rubber Corporation hires new director of engineering

Henri LeMeur Jr., President & CEO of Superior Tire & Rubber Corporation of Warren, Pennsylvania is pleased to announce that Joseph Peterson, PhD has joined the Engineering & Technical Services Team as Director of Engineering.  Dr. Peterson has been tasked with leading Superior Tire’s engineering groups into a future of innovative design, increased automation in the manufacturing processes, and new product development in the continuous effort to exceed the expectations of their customers.    

Dr. Peterson comes to Superior Tire from Milliken & Company where he served as a Senior Polymer Scientist managing R&D projects for new product development in their plastic additive research facility in South Carolina.  While at Milliken, he earned industry and company honors while leading research teams in the discovery of new technologies for polymers.  He has earned a US Patent and several other innovations that are currently patent pending. His educational training includes his Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer Chemistry from the Rochester Institute of Technology and both his Masters and Ph.D. in Polymer Science & Engineering from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

Joseph and his wife Beth are both Warren County natives and Superior Tire & Rubber Corp is pleased to play a part in bringing their exceptional talents back to the area.  With Dr. Peterson leading the Technical Teams, Mr. LeMeur is confident the company is positioned to maintain and expand on his stated goal of being the Vendor of Choice in the markets Superior Tire & Rubber serves.
