The Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association’s 2016 Annual Convention will take place April 30 – May 4 at the Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, Maryland, just minutes from Washington DC.
Registration numbers are breaking records – 575 attendees already registered – more than in over 10 years! MHEDA attributes this record breaking attendance to a solid convention program, filled with numerous learning and networking opportunities.
The theme for the 2016 Convention is “Passion with Purpose.” With a new generation entering the workforce and baby boomers entering the last chapter of their career, employees want to be part of something bigger than themselves. MHEDA’s Convention will provide the inspiration and tools to help organizations create a culture of passion and success.
MHEDA is proud to welcome Iraq war vet and golf pro Major Dan Rooney, USAF as the keynote speaker. His story, “A Patriot’s Calling: Leadership, Teamwork and Sacrifice” will inspire attendees to follow their passion. Rooney founded Folds of Honor, a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to the spouses and children of military services members disabled or killed in action.
There are ten workshops, a Member Panel, roundtable discussions and three general sessions for attendees to attend. Workshop topics were designed to address many of the critical issues facing material handling organizations; such as consolidation, people management, customer service, technology and more. The Exhibitors’ Showcase will also take place during the convention. Over 90 companies will be exhibiting, giving attendees the opportunity to learn about the latest products and services available in the industry.
To help maximize the informal networking that takes place during the convention, MHEDA has planned a variety of local tours, golf tournament and parties to give attendees a relaxed and casual networking atmosphere.
