KION North America hosts food drive

KION North America hosted a fall food drive to benefit Lowcountry Food Bank. The company donated more than 1,200 pounds of non-perishable food items in time for the upcoming holiday season.

Located just 20 miles from KION North America’s corporate office, Lowcountry Food Bank serves the 10 coastal counties of South Carolina including Dorchester County-where the material handling equipment manufacturer is based. The organization serves as a clearinghouse for donated food products that are distributed to a network of nearly 300 member feeding agencies including soup kitchens, homeless shelters and emergency food pantries.

“We strive to be a good steward of the communities we live and operate our business in,” said Vincent Halma, president of KION North America. “I’m extremely proud of the participation from our employees.”   The 1,200 pounds of food donated will go towards Lowcountry Food Banks goal of distributing over 25 million pounds of food this year.
