G-CON manufacturing achieves ISO Standards in Management and Safety

G-CON awarded re-certification in ISO 9001 for quality management and initial certification in ISO 45001 for workplace safety

G-CON Manufacturing, the provider in prefabricated flexible cleanroom solutions (“PODs”), today announced its having received the ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management Certification and its re-certification in ISO 9001. The ISO 45001 certification was just released in March 2018 and is the new international standard for occupational health and safety (OH&S). ISO 45001 puts special emphasis on prevention systems and prevention management with its consideration for both risks and opportunities. G-CON also obtained the OHSAS 18001:2007 certification, currently the widely adopted workplace health and safety standard.

G-CON also received its re-certification in ISO 9001 by continuing to show commitment for its quality systems that were initially certified in 2017. The ISO 9000 family addresses various aspects of quality management where ISO 9001:2015 specifically sets the criteria for quality management systems. With the ISO 9001:2015 certification, G-CON ensures its customers receive quality products and services and improve all around customer satisfaction.

Receiving the new ISO 45001:2018 certification places G-CON under the highest international standards for health and safety in the workplace and improves overall efficiency and quality of manufacturing processes. This new international standard also emphasizes process-based standards as opposed to procedure-based (an aspect of OHSAS 18001) and focuses on the interaction between the Company and its business environment, and the importance of providing a safe and healthy workplace for employees and its visitors.

“Achieving these ISO standards for a company our size and our age that has experienced significant growth over the past few years is a remarkable achievement and I am proud of our quality and safety team members who established these two standards as goals for our organization,” stated Sidney Backstrom, Vice President, Business Management. “Understanding and following the standards have improved our business as we are able meet established principles without second guessing the appropriateness of the same while further aligning with customer expectations.” G-CON’s re-certification for ISO 9001:2015 for its manufacturing of cGMP compliant cleanroom systems confirms G-CON’s management systems’ proficiency to meet the following objectives:

  • Maintain compliance against the ISO standard;
  • Meet applicable statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements;
  • Ensure the organization is continually meeting its specified objectives.
