Listen to this article

Appleton Group, a business unit of Emerson, announced that Harish Shinde has been appointed Vice President of Strategy and Customer Care. A familiar face, Mr. Shinde joined Emerson in 2011 as Director of Planning for Commercial Industrial Solutions. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Appleton Canada with responsibility for sales, marketing and operations. He will report directly to Russ Kerstetter, President of Appleton Group.

In his new role, Mr. Shinde will work closely with his team to develop and implement global business strategies for the internationally recognized Appleton®, O-Z/Gedney®, SolaHD™, Nelson® and EasyHeat® brands. The core element of the strategic plans is to transform the customer experience and to create a culture focused on exceeding customers’ expectations, at all levels of the company – from sales to customer support. Importantly, Mr. Shinde will be in charge of the Customer Project Organization that centers on looking at every purchasing decision through a customer lens and making measurable changes and improvements in technology and training to give employees the tools they need to deliver excellent service.
Prior to working for Emerson, Mr. Shinde was manager in the Strategy and Operations practice of Deloitte Consulting LLP based out of the firm’s Chicago office. Also, he worked for Trinity Consultants in St. Louis, Missouri.

Mr. Shinde holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Mumbai, India and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas. He also has a MBA from Duke University, USA.
