On Monday night, 7th December, at the 12th annual prestigious procurement Plumes des Achats awards, Kogan Page authors Gerard Chick and Robert Handfield won the Grand Prix ACA-Bruel, awarded to titles recognised for their important contribution to the research and practice in the fields of procurement and supply chain management. Samir Dani, author of Food Supply Chain Management and Logistics, was awarded the Prix des Associations at the gala award presentation in Paris.

Chick and Handfield’s book The Procurement Value Proposition published by Kogan Page was judged as the Grand Prix ACA-Bruel winner for its ambitious vision of procurement.

The Procurement Value Proposition examines important changes that will have a profound effect on the way procurement is carried out. It considers the implications of global economic transformation for procurement set against: changes in business contexts, purchasing strategies, organisational structure, roles and responsibilities, system development and skills required to work in the profession.

Commenting on the book’s success, Chick said, “To receive the Grand Prix ACA-Bruel is both an honour and a real surprise. I am delighted to be recognised for my contribution to the profession’.

Dani’s book Food Supply Chain Management and Logistics published by Kogan Page won the Prix des Associations for its comprehensive coverage of the design, governance, supporting mechanisms and future challenges in the food supply chain.

Food Supply Chain Management and Logistics considers the food supply chain from ‘farm’ to ‘fork’, showing how to stay ahead of the game by keeping abreast of global best practice, harnessing the very latest technology and squeezing efficiency and profit from increasingly complex supply chains.
