Signode, a manufacturer of a broad spectrum of consumables, tools, software, and equipment to optimize end-of-line packaging operations and protect the product in transit, is showcasing a reliable and economical solution for wrapping pallets with the Octopus “C” automatic rotary ring stretch wrapper at MODEX 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia. Visitors at Signode’s booth # 5223 will encounter the compact in size, yet versatile enough to handle a variety of applications stretch wrapper. Its aluminum frame structure further provides dependable construction with minimal maintenance required.

“The “C” series delivers all the benefits customers have grown to expect from our successful Octopus rotary ring stretch wrap machines, but in a compact size,” says Joe Albert, Vice President of Sales for Signode Global Wrapping and Case Handling.  “Warehouse space is at a premium, and this wrapper takes up less space than most of its competitors and is simple to install—all while providing optimal load containment and minimizing film usage.”

The Octopus “C” also comes equipped with Signode’s patented Easy “S” Film Carriage which enables simple film loading, maximizes pre-stretch performance and minimizes wear. Compared to traditional “W” wrap systems, the positive contact of the “S” wrap pattern improves pre-stretch levels, can better handle a variety of films, and significantly lowers the overall cost of ownership.

The machine can wrap up to 40 loads per hour depending on load size and wrap pattern.  With options like OctoFACE operator interface touchscreen, ring frame maintenance locking system, low film alarm, and external grace port, the “C” series Octopus has many of the same versatile and performance-enhancing features of higher speed models.  Modular components like a load stabilizer, roping device, and pallet lift device are also available, making the machine easily adaptable to a wide range of applications.

“We are continually looking to respond to growing market demands,” says Albert. “The Octopus “C” is ideal for manufacturers looking to increase productivity while simultaneously conserving space and dollars.”
