Larson Electronics continues its commitment to providing high grade lighting equipment to specialty markets with the release of a newly designed class 1 division 1 explosion proof drop light.

The EPL-120X24V-C1D1-100-EPP explosion proof drop light from Larson Electronics is ideal for general close work and inspection activities in hazardous locations requiring explosion proof protection. This drop light comes complete with 100’ of SOOW explosion proof cord with an inline class 1 division 1 step down transformer that steps down 120 volts AC to 24 volts DC for powering the lamp. The drop light housing is constructed of aluminum with a rubber bumper guard designed to provide an effective lighting solution for operators requiring a versatile source of illumination. The housing is equipped with a swivel hook for hanging and hands free operation.

This hazardous location hand lamp is class 1, division 1 approved when equipped with a 100 watt incandescent bulb or class 2 division 1 approved when equipped with a 60 watt bulb. This drop light is ideal for hazardous work areas where a ready source of easily managed lighting is desired and is suitable for use in areas where petrochemical vapors and various dusts are present. This incandescent drop light is equipped with 100’ of 12/3 chemical and abrasion resistant SOOW cable leading to an encapsulated, class 1 division 1 explosion proof step down transformer. A ten foot cable protrudes from the transformer and is terminated in an optional explosion proof cord cap for connection to power.

“This class 1 division 1 explosion proof hand lamp provides a portable lighting solution within classified locations that require low voltage operation,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO at Larson Electronics. “Now equipped with a class 1 division 1 inline transformer terminated in an explosion proof plug, these hand lamps provide complete protection for use within the hazardous location.”
