Larson Electronics has announced the release of a new pedestal mount metal halide work light approved for use in hazardous locations and can illuminate up to 18,000 square feet of work space.

The EPL-PM-1X400MH-200 explosion proof work light from Larson Electronics is Class 1 Division 2 rated and U.L. approved for use in marine environments. This portable metal halide light is mounted within an A-frame portable stand constructed from non-sparking aluminum and powder coated for increased durability and corrosion resistance. This hazardous location work light is comprised of a 15 inch wide by 11 inch tall rectangular light head mounted within a pedestal base stand fabricated with a convenient carrying handle. The metal halide lamp produces 36,000 lumens of light and is protected by a die cast aluminum constructed housing featuring a hinged, removable front access door. The optical assembly is designed with a precision formed aluminum reflector and protected by a heat and impact-resistant tempered glass door.

This metal halide work light produces a brilliant flood pattern of light that is ideal for illuminating enclosed areas and hazardous locations where flammable vapors, gases and dusts have the potential to exist. The lamp can be easily adjusted up or down 90 degrees and locked into position by simply loosening the two hand screws located on either side of the light head and tightening them once the desired angle is found. This hazardous location work light is equipped with 200 feet of 16/3 chemical and abrasion resistant cord that is fitted with an explosion proof cord cap for easy connection to explosion proof outlets.

“This portable metal halide work light is ideal for hazardous location areas where only temporary lighting is required,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics. “The intense output of the lamp and reflector assembly will produce 36,000 lumens capable of illuminating 25,000 square feet of work area.”
