Enhancing Cold Storage Access with Advanced Safety, Durability, and Efficiency Features

Amerikooler, a U.S. based leader in commercial refrigeration solutions, highlights the Automated Sliding Door System, engineered to deliver unmatched safety, durability, and performance for cold storage and controlled environment applications. This advanced system is designed to meet the rigorous demands of industries such as laboratories, restaurants, and the meat sector, where reliable access and temperature integrity are critical.

The Automated Sliding Door System features an exclusive Kavidoors Patented Anti-Fall/Anti-Tip Track System, providing operational safety by preventing derailment and accidents. Its extruded aluminum frame, finished with a 20-micron anodized coating, ensures long-term durability and corrosion resistance, maintaining both appearance and function over time. The self-supporting telescopic frame allows for easy installation in new builds or retrofits, accommodating various wall and floor conditions.

Engineered for longevity, the door system incorporates corrosion-resistant hardware to withstand harsh environments, reducing maintenance and extending product life. For extreme cold applications, the heated frame and/or door leaf with Frostop cables prevents freeze-ups, ensuring reliable operation in blast freezer conditions down to -40°F. An optional thermal view window, available in a 12″x12″ size and with a heated option for freezers, enables visual inspection without opening the door, minimizing temperature loss.

The system’s premium DuPont™ XPS or PIR insulation, available in 4″ or 5″ thickness, delivers a high R-value (R-28 to R-36), maintaining temperature integrity and reducing energy costs. Its closed-cell, hydrophobic insulation structure resists moisture, maintains long-term thermal value, and prevents shrinkage or off-gassing, ensuring consistent performance over time. Custom sizing up to 16 feet wide by 24 feet high accommodates large openings, making it ideal for high-traffic or oversized access needs, while requiring only 21 inches of headroom to maximize usable space.

The industrial-grade motor (1/2 HP, TEFC, 1750 RPM) delivers reliable, smooth, and powerful automated operation, while multiple voltage options (120V 1ph, 230V 3ph, 460V 3ph) provide flexible integration. The NEMA 4 sealed control box ensures weather and dust resistance, supporting safe and reliable operation in demanding environments. Smart activation options, including motion sensor, push-button, pull cord, floor loop, timer, and radio transmitter/receiver, enable convenient, hands-free, or remote operation tailored to user needs and safety.

Security and efficiency are enhanced with automatic latch release and timed self-closing, ensuring doors close securely after use. An interior emergency override allows manual opening in case of power loss or freeze, providing safety and compliance. The Smooth-Glide Rails enable quiet operation and smooth door movement with minimal mechanical components to reduce noise and maintenance while increasing reliability. For manual operation, the STUV Advance ergonomic handle offers a comfortable and secure grip.

The Automated Sliding Door System is compatible with multiple cladding options, including stainless steel, stucco aluminum, and galvanized finishes, to match diverse aesthetic and durability requirements. It is specially designed for use in cold storage rooms (32°F), freezing rooms (-4°F), and freezing tunnels (-40°F), and is ideal for negative-controlled temperature environments. Blast freezer-grade insulation and heating maintain performance in extreme cold, including blast freezer applications.

Amerikooler offers a comprehensive warranty of three years structural and one year electrical for the Automated Sliding Door System, providing peace of mind and protection against manufacturing defects. The system does not off-gas or shrink over time like polyurethane, and is designed for installation in cold storage rooms and access areas requiring large doors or overhead passages.
