Stephenson’s Rental Services Expands Material Handling Presence in Southwestern Ontario

Listen to this article

Stephenson’s Rental Services has expanded its footprint in Southwestern Ontario with the acquisition of Riverside Rentals, a Windsor-based equipment rental provider serving contractors and trades for nearly four decades.

The acquisition strengthens Stephenson’s ability to support construction, industrial, and material-handling customers in the Windsor–Essex region by increasing fleet availability, providing localized expertise, and delivering responsive service. Customers will gain access to a broader range of rental equipment, including material-handling solutions, jobsite equipment, and specialized tools to support complex projects and industrial operations.

With more than 70 years of Canadian-owned heritage, Stephenson’s Rental Services continues to invest in regional growth by expanding its branch network and equipment offerings to meet rising demand across key markets.

Riverside Rentals logo“For nearly 40 years, Riverside Rentals has built its reputation on trust, long-standing customer relationships, and a commitment to service,” said Phil Morand, Co-Founder of Riverside Rentals. “Joining Stephenson’s Rental Services allows us to build on that foundation while providing our customers access to a larger equipment fleet and expanded resources, all while maintaining the local service they value.”

The Windsor operation will transition fully to Stephenson’s Rental Services brand, integrating Riverside’s experienced team into Stephenson’s national network. Customers will benefit from enhanced access to material handling equipment, dependable fleet maintenance standards, and technical expertise backed by Stephenson’s established support infrastructure.

“This expansion reinforces our commitment to supporting industrial and construction customers throughout Southwestern Ontario,” said Rob Wilson, CEO of Stephenson’s Rental Services. “By expanding into Windsor, we’re better positioned to deliver reliable equipment, expert guidance, and responsive service that helps our customers operate efficiently and safely.”

The acquisition supports Stephenson’s long-term growth strategy, focused on serving contractors, trades, and industrial customers with the equipment and expertise they rely on to keep operations moving.

“Our customers depend on us for uptime, reliability, and knowledgeable support,” added Wilson. “The Windsor location allows us to strengthen our regional presence and better serve material handling and construction customers across the corridor.”
