ALAN prepares for Hurricane Michael

As Hurricane Michael gets closer to the Florida panhandle  and Southeastern US landfall,  the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) wants to remind you of a few quick but important storm-related reminders.

Stay Up To Date

  • Information about the latest path of the storm (and links to organizations like the National Hurricane Center and National Weather Service, which we encourage you to monitor for the latest details)
  • Key details about road closures, evacuation routes, port closures and other supply chain impacts
  • News about other notable Michael related developments
  • And an overview of any requests for assistance we’ve received

It’s a great place to go if you have any questions about Michael, other named storms, or the latest relief efforts, and we will be updating it often as circumstances and needs change.  ALAN also encourage you to download the FEMA Mobile App to get weather alerts, preparedness tools, and disaster-related resources and information.

Stay Connected. In related news, ALAN is busily preparing to provide supply chain support when and where it’s required.  ALAN has received numerous requests for support which you can find on our micro-site, social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and Linked In) and occasional e-mails like this, so keep your eyes peeled.  Meanwhile, if you’d like to offer your assistance in advance, you may do so here.

Stay Safe.  On a final note, thank you to all those who have already offered support or shared information with us.   All of these offers are hugely appreciated – and have the potential to make a huge difference as we work to save lives through logistics.  Should you need additional information or have a specific request, don’t hesitate to reach out.  Meanwhile, may you and your loved ones stay safe in the days ahead.
