UniCarriers Americas announces executive appointments

UniCarriers Americas [UCA] announces appointments of seven executives to new positions within the organization due to rapid global growth in its fiscal 2012 year, which ended March 31, 2013. This rapid growth includes 15 percent year-over-year sales and operating profit growth and nearly 10 percent market share growth in the Americas alone. The appointments include Anthony J. Salgado to president; James J. Radous III to executive vice president sales, Americas; Steve Cianci to vice president, sales and marketing; Dan Domberg to vice president, aftermarket customer satisfaction; Dale Mark to vice president, manufacturing operations; Mark Manninen to senior director, business and channel development and Brian Markison to director of sales, North America. The leadership changes follow the appointment of current president of UniCarriers Americas, Akiri Shiki, to Tokyo-based position of chief operating officer for UniCarriers Corporation, along with Satoru Omori, who is chief executive officer. All of the appointments are effective October 1, 2013.

Anthony J. Salgado appointed President of UniCarriers Americas
UniCarriers Corporation board of directors appointed Anthony J. Salgado as president of UniCarriers Americas. Salgado has been with UCA (formerly Nissan Forklift Corporation, North America) since 2001 in progressing leadership roles covering the quality, manufacturing operations and aftermarket operations departments, with his most recent role as vice president, manufacturing operations. Serving as vice president, manufacturing operations, Salgado was an instrumental member of the executive leadership team, establishing globally recognized and benchmarked manufacturing operations, increasing the effectiveness of UCA’s aftermarket support operations and leading many aspects of the regional company integration. In his tenure, he worked closely with the sales organization, dealer channel and customer base to ensure UCA’s exceptional reputation for quality and value through a strong company commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

James J. Radous III appointed to Executive Vice President Sales, Americas
UCA board of directors appointed James J. Radous III as executive vice president sales, Americas for UniCarriers Americas. Radous played a critical role in the growth success of UniCarriers Americas since the recession of 2009.  With the company nearly four years, Radous grew sales more than 200 percent through the end of fiscal 2012 and increased operating profits from a loss in fiscal 2009 to double-digit gains by fiscal 2012. Prior to his current role, Radous was vice president, sales and marketing. In his new role, in addition to leading the sales and marketing group, Radous will add two new key areas for revenue generation: business development and a newly created aftermarket group.

Steve Cianci Appointed to Vice President, Sales and Marketing
In his new role as vice president, sales and marketing, Steve Cianci establishes and directs all the strategic business sales and marketing initiatives for the Americas. This responsibility includes national account and channel sales growth, as well as directing key marketing communications and product management initiatives. Prior to his appointment, as director of marketing, Cianci played a key leadership role in the development and current ongoing execution of the brand transition from Nissan Forklift and TCM to UniCarriers Americas.

Dan Domberg Appointed to Vice President, Aftermarket Customer Satisfaction
In his new role as vice president, aftermarket customer satisfaction, Dan Domberg is responsible for establishing cohesive and reliable customer service processes with the goal of being the best in the industry. His scope of responsibility includes parts, technical support, training, fleet service management, inside sales, customer quality, warranty and overall customer satisfaction. Prior to his appointment, Domberg served as director, customer quality and satisfaction.  

Dale Mark Appointed to Vice President, Manufacturing Operations
Appointed to his new role as vice president, manufacturing operations, Dale Mark will be responsible for leading the continued growth and advancement of UniCarriers America’s high-performing manufacturing and supply chain operations. In his tenure, Mark has consistently played a lead role in both developing manufacturing strategy, and directing its effective implementation into the factory. Mark joined Nissan Forklift Corporation, North America (now UniCarriers Americas) in 2005, as senior manufacturing engineering manager and was quickly promoted to director, manufacturing engineering and quality assurance. Over the past eight years, he has lead the implementation of the Nissan production way and synchronous manufacturing initiatives, which have established the Marengo facility as a global benchmark for safety, quality and cost performance within the UniCarriers Corporation. 

Mark Manninen Appointed to Senior Director, Business and Channel Development
Mark Manninen was promoted to senior director, business and channel development. In his newly created position, Manninen is responsible for new business development opportunities, dealer channel management and industry analysis, which are strategic areas of focus that have been identified for emphasis and are critical to future growth and success. Prior to his promotion, Manninen was director, distribution management and sales intelligence.

Brian Markison Appointed to Director of Sales, North America
Brian Markison was promoted to director of sales, North America. In his new role, Markison is responsible for new equipment and parts sales through the dealer channel as well as national accounts.
