UniCarriers Americas Corporation (UCA) announced that its supplier, Shanghai Leading, has opened its U.S. branch, Leading Harness Americas, on UCA’s Marengo campus. Established in Tokyo in 1960, Shanghai Leading Electric Co. provides a wide array of assembly and wire harness products. Shanghai Leading’s U.S branch officially began operations on November 1.

Shanghai Leading is a long-term direct supplier of body harnesses and cables used in nearly all UniCarriers internal combustion lift trucks. Leading Harness Americas opening the warehousing space in its Marengo location provides a number of advantages for UCA and its dealers, including shortening lead times and increasing flexibility among new units.

“Now that Leading Harness Americas is right here on our campus, we are able to free up our own warehousing space, allowing us to expand manufacturing operations rather than hold inventory,” said John Arnold, director of supply management for UCA. “Shanghai Leading is the second supplier to establish U.S. operations in order to work with UniCarriers Americas. This helps streamline the production of reliable lift trucks, as well as brings more job opportunities to our local community.”
