Industry events like MODEX 2016 offer a dynamic, informative experience to help attendees discover the latest warehouse solutions, and gain a competitive edge in the highly-volatile supply chain environment. At booths #3147 and #2263, Yale Materials Handling Corporation offered an interactive booth experience complete with product demonstrations and the latest technology to drive increased output and operational efficiency – showing attendees how Yale can help them Break Free with creative solutions that flex with changing business requirements.

The company featured its MPE080VG end rider Driven by Balyo technology, which enables the end rider to function as a self-guided truck, an ideal solution for delivering products reliably and economically in a wide range of warehouse applications. The infrastructure-free navigation technology requires no tape, wire or magnets for guidance, instead it relies on existing structural features such as walls, racking and columns to self-locate and navigate. Attendees also experienced the Yale® A-WARE RFID performance control technology integrated with its very narrow aisle truck. A-WARE uses radio frequency identification to automatically trigger traction, speed and lift settings, enabling operators to focus more attention on operational tasks.

Additionally, the Yale booth focused on a comprehensive suite of alternative power solutions, including lithium-ion battery technology and hydrogen fuel cells. The Yale lithium-ion battery, which is the first UL-recognized lithium-ion battery pack in the lift truck industry, offers extended run times, versatile charging capabilities and the ability to last five times longer than traditional lead-acid batteries. And lift trucks powered by hydrogen fuel cells, produce zero harmful emissions and take approximately three minutes to refuel, enabling increased uptime and sustained performance throughout the shift.

For an immersive, hands-on experience, the Yale Vision satellite booth, #2263, hosted an interactive simulation that allowed attendees to drive scaled-down truck models through a virtual warehouse environment. The Yale Vision wireless asset management system offers broad compatibility and connectivity options designed for unprecedented visibility into mobile warehouse equipment, and how it operates within the facility.

“In addition to finding the right technology, companies need a trusted partner to capitalize on their competitive edge, realize the full benefit of a technology investment and maximize on the opportunity to increase labor productivity,” says Mick McCormick, Vice President of Warehouse Solutions for Yale. “The Yale booth enabled attendees to better understand our latest technologies by interacting with them firsthand.”
