TWO-IN-ONE PALLET TRUCK AND MOTORIZED SLED AVOIDS NEED TO HAUL TWO PIECES OF EQUIPMENT FROM TRUCK TO STORE, REDUCES MANUAL HANDLING BY 50 PERCENT Yale Lift Truck Technologies announces that the Yale Route Runner™ direct-store-delivery solution has been recognized as one of the year’s most innovative products by the Business Intelligence Group’s BIG Innovation Awards. The two-in-one solution overhauls traditional direct-store-delivery workflows by allowing drivers to haul just one piece of equipment from truck to store and removing the need to transfer inventory from a pallet truck to a smaller piece of equipment for indoor use. This workflow adjustment greatly reduces the risk of strains and injuries from manual labor throughout the course of a shift, and cuts manual materials handling by up to 50 percent. Typically, direct-store delivery workflows require drivers to manage multiple pieces of equipment: a pallet truck for unloading trailers and a separate handcart or sled for navigating inside tight, indoor retail spaces. Yale Route Runner enables drivers to simply detach the nested sled from the larger pallet truck and take advantage of its small footprint in tight retail spaces – no need for downstacking products from one piece of equipment to another. The motorized sled provides an ergonomic power assist to reduce manual strain when navigating inclines or traversing thresholds, and can raise the load platform approximately 18 inches during restocking to reduce bending and lifting. Avoiding the need to manually transfer product from a pallet truck to a small piece of equipment adds up to a major impact. Over a typical 9-stop route, drivers can lift 27,000 fewer pounds, take nearly 2,000 fewer steps and shorten their route by 63 minutes – possibly enabling drivers to make an additional stop. “Direct-store delivery affects our everyday lives in ways we don’t even think about – stocking convenience stores with soda and other beverages, bringing new supplies to our offices and schools, and more,” said Kevin McWilliams, Director, Major Accounts, Yale Lift Truck Technologies. “With Yale Route Runner, we focused our innovation efforts on re-engineering the process of direct-store delivery and making it easier for drivers to execute and meet the needs of retail customers.” In addition to the two-in-one sled and pallet jack, Yale’s comprehensive approach to direct-store delivery also includes matching pallets to round out the system.

President Donald J. Trump has signed a proclamation modifying certain metals-related tariffs, a move that could have direct implications for the material handling industry and forklift dealers across the United States. Among the most notable changes, the proclamation expands the category of industrial equipment eligible for a reduced 15% tariff rate to include mobile industrial equipment, such as forklifts and bulldozers, when imported from qualifying trade-deal countries. The revised tariff rate, reduced from 25%, is intended to encourage investment in U.S. manufacturing and support industries that rely on steel and aluminum-intensive equipment. The temporary tariff adjustments will remain in effect through December 31, 2027, providing manufacturers, importers, and equipment dealers with greater certainty as they plan inventory, sourcing strategies, and capital investments. What It Means for Forklift Dealers For forklift dealers, the expanded tariff treatment could improve the affordability and availability of equipment on select imported models while creating new opportunities for fleet growth and customer acquisition. Dealers that represent brands sourcing equipment from qualifying trade partners may benefit from a more competitive cost structure during the program period. The proclamation also introduces an incentive for manufacturers to increase their use of domestically produced steel and aluminum. Equipment containing at least 85% U.S.-melted and poured steel or U.S.-smelted and cast aluminum by weight may qualify for a lower 10% duty rate, encouraging greater integration of American-made materials throughout the supply chain. Continued Focus on Domestic Manufacturing The administration says the tariff adjustments are designed to support domestic steel, aluminum, and copper production while encouraging investment in industries that depend on those materials, including construction equipment, transportation, agriculture, and material handling. According to the White House, the United States has increased steel production capacity in recent years, with more than four million tons of new crude steelmaking capacity expected to come online over the next two years. New investments in aluminum and copper production are also underway, aimed at strengthening domestic supply chains and reducing reliance on foreign sources. Planning for the Next Two Years For dealership executives, the temporary nature of the tariff program makes the next 18 to 24 months particularly important. Dealers may want to evaluate: Equipment sourcing strategies and supplier relationships Inventory planning for imported and domestically manufactured forklifts Pricing impacts on new equipment sales Rental fleet expansion opportunities Customer demand from the manufacturing, warehousing, and construction sectors As manufacturers respond to the new tariff framework, forklift dealers will be watching closely to see how equipment pricing, availability, and domestic production strategies evolve through 2027. The policy’s inclusion of forklifts marks a significant development for the material-handling industry and could influence purchasing decisions across the dealer channel.

Updated counterbalanced electric lift truck series builds on proven capability of E-XN series with greater configurability, ergonomic enhancements and improved energy efficiency for demanding applications Hyster has announced the E45-70XN2, a 4,500-to-7,000-pound capacity cushion tire, electric lift truck series that builds upon the success of the established XN models to provide high performance, minimal downtime, and reduced total cost of operation in tough indoor applications. The XN2 series provides operations with the flexibility to pick the best electric power source and performance configuration for their requirements, along with ergonomic features and simplified service. The result is a lift truck that delivers the productivity required by manufacturers and distributors to keep paper and packaging, automotive, agriculture and other products moving. Operations can select their XN2 trucks with the Intelimatch™ configuration that provides smooth, efficient performance or opt for the Duramatch™ specification that delivers a boost in energy efficiency of up to 20% and higher performance. Operations can also select from a variety of battery types, including purpose-built Hyster lithium-ion batteries engineered specifically for seamless integration and greater efficiency. To match operational requirements, users can choose from multiple box sizes and other battery chemistries in addition to modular Hyster lithium-ion power, including lead acid and thin plate pure lead batteries. “While no two operations are exactly alike, constant pressure to do more with less is a common theme, from keeping equipment costs in check to squeezing more productivity from a limited pool of experienced lift truck operators,” said Lauren Grady, Global Product Manager, Hyster. “The new XN2 lift truck models set the bar higher, with the ergonomics, visibility and performance demanding applications require, while empowering operations to configure the right solution for their unique requirements.” The XN2 series features the largest through-mast window in its class – 34% larger than the previous model – and the Duramatch configuration provides up to 65% faster lift and lower speeds compared to leading competitors. Clear sightlines and a near-zero turn radius help operators to effectively navigate tight spaces as they push to meet high productivity targets. Additionally, suspended and air ride seat options reduce the shock and vibrations transmitted to the operator, enhancing operator comfort, confidence and productivity throughout a shift. Intuitive controls and a flip-up armrest also aid operators in avoiding fatigue. Fully sealed wet brake axles require 20% less service over the life of the truck when compared to the previous model, helping to reduce total cost of ownership and limit maintenance-related downtime. When service is required, the truck is designed to help technicians quickly access trouble areas and service the truck. The wireless monitoring tier of the Hyster Tracker™ telemetry system and the Hyster Dynamic Stability System are standard on the XN2 series, alongside a five-inch touch screen display that provides easy access to critical information such as speed and battery life, and enables users to calibrate performance. Operations looking to further support their safety initiatives can add Hyster Reaction™operator assist solutions, which reinforce lift truck operating best practices with active alerts and interventions.

OEM BATTERIES, CHARGERS AND LIFT TRUCKS PROVIDE UNIFIED SOLUTION, BACKED BY CONVENIENCE AND EXPERTISE OF LOCAL YALE DEALERS Yale Lift Truck Technologies announces lithium-ion batteries and chargers designed specifically for Yale lift trucks, including the newly-launched ERC-VG2 series. The purpose-built batteries and chargers avoid the compatibility concerns that can arise with third-party power solutions and provide a high-performance, maintenance-free, zero-emission power option at a competitive price point. Battery: Lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) chemistry offers performance and usability benefits, including improved heat stability, longer lifespan compared to other battery chemistries, and fast, flexible charging. Modular size and capacity options allow operations to find the best option for their application and enable individual cells to be replaced, rather than an entire battery. Charging infrastructure: Chargers are designed for strategic placement throughout the warehouse, including high-traffic areas, to encourage opportunity charging during breaks or between shifts. Unlike charging lead-acid batteries, warehouses do not need to set aside space for spare battery packs and separate battery storage and charging rooms. Lift truck: System-level integration enables the battery to communicate with other systems, preventing truck operation during charging and enabling warnings that can enhance lift truck safety and performance, such as alerts for low charge or high temperatures. Real-time battery and truck data is also presented to managers through the Yale Vision™ telemetry platform. “Our goal is to give warehouses as frictionless an experience as possible,” said Ken Schreiber, Energy Solutions Leader, Yale Lift Truck Technologies. “The unified solution of advanced battery technology, chargers and lift trucks delivers on that promise, with easy day-to-day usability and performance, backed by the one-stop shop convenience of support from our local dealers.” The battery and charger solutions are validated from the factory for each element to work as a fully integrated ecosystem that provides the reliable power fast-paced warehouses demand. The modular battery pack design enables service of individual modules, rather than requiring replacement of an entire pack. End-to-end service and warranty support for all Yale batteries, chargers and lift trucks is taken care of by the Yale dealer network, offering a single point of contact and avoiding the service headaches that can come from piecemeal solutions. Dealers also help customers assess their lift truck power and infrastructure requirements to create the best-fit solution based on site-specific needs.

SIEMPELKAMP Machines & Handling GmbH has significantly increased its efficiency and sustainability by integrating Wiferion’s inductive charging solution. This partnership combines SIEMPELKAMP’s RundSchienen system with Wiferion’s innovative wireless charging technology, resulting in a significant improvement in production processes. Identifying trends early on is an important credo for economic efficiency. However, foresight does not always lead to business success. For the SIEMPELKAMP Machines & Handling GmbH , a member of the , focusing on a second pillar around ten years ago proved to be forward-looking. Having grown in the field of press automation in the 1980s and 1990s, the provider of system solutions for transport and handling has now specialised in driverless transport systems (AGVs) and, in this context, expanded the range of its patented circular rail system. “Market demand in the field of press automation has declined steadily over the last five years. The main drivers are the significant changes in the field of car body parts manufacturing,” says Dominik Schaffrinski, Head of Business Development & Marketing at SIEMPELKAMP. “Instead, demand in the field of intralogistics has risen steadily. Since we had already developed an unbeatable system for moving press tools with our round rails, we came up with the idea of using it for other areas of application as well. The decision to also build driverless transport vehicles (FTF) for our rail network was then an obvious one. Our new corporate focus is now on a complete system consisting of rails and automation that are perfectly coordinated with each other.” Heavy loads made easy: SIEMPELKAMP’s AGV solution for high efficiency and ergonomics The company now supplies 18,000 metres of RundSchienen for around 100 new projects per year. SIEMPELKAMP serves a niche market by focusing on the last mile in production, where the entire value chain converges to form the end product, and specialising in heavy loads. Products weighing between 5 and 200 tonnes can be transported on the rail system using SIEMPELKAMP’s uTrack AGV – a particularly floor-friendly mode of transport. In addition to its high positioning accuracy, the uTrack rail guide is also characterised by its energy efficiency. Thanks to its low coefficient of friction, moving loads is ten times more energy-efficient than with other rail systems. With a standard height of 260 mm, uTrack is an extremely compact AGV that improves ergonomics when working on and around vehicles. This exceptionally flat design is a unique selling point for the AGV worldwide. A very low failure rate also enables a high level of production reliability of 99.8 per cent. This is partly due to the closed contour of the round rail system, which, unlike conventional rails, has no large joints where dirt could fall and hinder transport. But even in the extremely rare event of a breakdown, it is no big deal, as Dominik Schaffrinski explains: “If a vehicle breaks down, it can be decoupled from its drive within five minutes and pulled along the track by an auxiliary mover, for example. With lighter loads, the vehicles can even be pushed from station to station by staff. Thanks to the low coefficient of friction, a single person can move up to five tonnes.” The result: the AGV remains on the track and production can be completed. Downtime and costs are thus reduced to a minimum. High effort, low yield: the disadvantages of line induction What a single person can move does not require a powerful battery system. Only two to four battery modules with a voltage of 48 volts and a charge storage capacity of 21 to 42 ampere hours are installed per uTrack. Due to the very low resistance when starting and braking, this power is completely sufficient. However, the type of energy transmission via line conductors embedded in the ground along the route proved to be a disadvantage in terms of efficiency. With line induction, the track must be permanently energised, even when the vehicle is stationary and has no significant energy requirements. This significantly reduces efficiency and consequently increases operating costs and environmental impact. “The longer the route, the worse the carbon footprint,” says Dominik Schaffrinski. In addition, this type of energy transfer involves enormous installation costs. The line conductors must be precisely adjusted to the rail level along the entire route. A highly efficient, technically sophisticated system and an inefficient energy supply? For SIEMPELKAMP, this is not an acceptable situation. The company has therefore been relying on Wiferion’s inductive point charging systems since 2022. Charging only where necessary: Wiferion’s etaLINK 3000 increases efficiency Wiferion offers inductive charging systems for autonomous AGVs that can be installed without major changes to the building structure. SIEMPELKAMP integrates these directly into the assembly line in the form of the Wireless Charging Protection System (WCPS) floor installation solution from Wiferion’s strategic partner PohlCon. Unlike a line induction system, which is installed along the entire line, etaLINK 3000 is only used at a few strategically important locations. “SIEMPELKAMP saw great potential in a solution that would eliminate this additional energy and installation effort. The number of charging stations required in the line is determined based on the number of stations to be approached and the energy consumption, which is calculated from factors such as the weight, speed and cycle time of the AGVs. Wiferion’s 3kW system only provides energy where it is needed. This is a 1:1 added value for the end customer,” says Dominik Schaffrinski. “This has improved energy efficiency by more than 50%. So we offer the best of both worlds: our rail technology and Wiferion’s inductive charging technology, a highly efficient complete package.” The result: the reduced complexity of the charging structure significantly lowers the overall project costs. In addition, manufacturers of large and heavy products who rely on SIEMPELKAMP’s transport system benefit from a significantly more efficient carbon footprint. Another advantage results from the interaction of the two technologies: the high positioning accuracy of the round rail system allows the ideal range of the Wiferion technology to be approached with pinpoint accuracy. This allows for a greater

Market sentiment is improving among forklift and pallet handling customers Throughput is the most important KPI in 2026, followed by orders and automation 26.3% of Voice of Market survey respondents cited forklifts as their top technology problem, largely due to their widespread use and technological changes Market sentiment among forklift customers has improved in 2026 compared to 2025, according to new research from Interact Analysis. The market intelligence specialist reveals in its new Voice of Market report that nearly half of respondents who expect capital expenditure on forklift and pallet-handling technology to increase from 12 months ago anticipate growth of more than 15%. E-commerce companies were significantly more bullish than retail, manufacturing/production, third-party logistics, and parcel, with an automation spend index of 82.9 (where 50 is neutral). Among the decision-makers and influencers surveyed, Interact Analysis found that throughput is the highest-ranked key performance indicator (KPI) for 2026, followed by orders and automation. Currently, the processes with the highest levels of automation include storage, receiving & unloading, and transport & movement. These are also areas with a high number of fully automated operations, including inventory management. Companies are increasingly using automation involving forklifts and pallet handling solutions, but significant numbers continue to employ manual processes Receiving and unloading suffer from accuracy and damage issues When it comes to the top priority for automation, receiving & unloading leads the way, with 54% of respondents choosing it. Challenges associated with receiving & unloading include accuracy and stock damage. At present, this workflow is 26% fully automated, with a further 50% of respondents using some form of automation and the remainder operating fully manual processes. To address problems with receiving & unloading, 68% of those surveyed plan to invest in additional labor, and 56% plan to invest in additional technology. As companies continue to invest in more autonomy and warehouse technologies, it is important that spending is carefully planned to ensure that solutions integrate effectively and safely into their existing operations. Monica Sanchez, Senior Research Lead for Voice of Market at Interact Analysis, explains, “There is a trend towards autonomy, creating an asymmetric environment which impacts multiple warehouse KPIs – including productivity, efficiency, and throughput. While there is clear demand for hybrid manual-autonomous forklifts, it is important to recognize that operating both vehicle types in tight, high-paced dock environments introduces coordination and safety complexities that will need to be carefully addressed in solution design. “With safety being the top priority when selecting a new technology supplier, operating manual and automated equipment, vendors can differentiate by highlighting product features which focus on this attribute.” About the report The Forklift and Pallet Handling Voice of Market Tracker is a twice-yearly syndicated study that delivers impartial insights – market health, sentiment, investment appetite, pain points, and emerging trends. Facility types covered are: e-commerce, retail, manufacturing/production, third-party logistics, and parcel. Our responses are drawn from decision-makers and influencers involved in the use, selection, and purchase of automation technology for their facilities worldwide. It is not representative of the entire warehousing industry, but rather of the subset of warehouses that are already using or actively exploring automation solutions. As such, results may differ substantially from the comprehensive industry reports we issue.

New-to-Americas XTLG lift trucks offer rugged, affordable electric option for those seeking an alternative to ICE-powered forklifts in indoor and outdoor applications Hyster announces the launch of the XTLG integrated lithium-ion forklift series in the Americas. The XTLG series is built on an established internal combustion engine (ICE) chassis and comes in three product ranges with lifting capacities from 4,000 to 15,500 pounds: J40-70XTLG, J80-110XTLG and J110-155XTLG. For operations accustomed to ICE power for rugged outdoor performance on a light- to medium-duty schedule, the trucks offer electric alternatives that provide greater efficiency at a strong value. The XTLG series uses approximately 75% less energy than a comparable diesel model according to VDI cycle testing, all while providing the ICE-like performance operations need to move heavy-duty loads like lumber, bricks and metals. Construction on a proven ICE chassis enables high ground clearance to handle uneven surfaces and parts sharing with ICE forklifts users may already have in their fleet. Replacing an internal combustion engine with a lithium-ion battery and permanent magnet motor system helps reduce service time and cost, reducing the number of moving parts and avoiding service items like oil changes, spark plugs, filters or belts. A wide view through the mast, an available weatherproof cabin and large tires enable the XTLG to handle the demands of both indoor and outdoor applications, including industrial warehouses and expansive outdoor storage yards. “There’s a growing market segment that is eager to electrify but has held back due to acquisition cost and the ability of electric power to match their performance requirements and duty cycle,” said Robert Lally, Product Manager, Hyster. “The XTLG forklift series addresses those challenges and makes electrification an accessible, practical option, with lithium-ion power on a trusted Hyster platform that stands up to operational demands and keeps operating costs in check.” The XTLG trucks are powered by a purpose-built Hyster integrated lithium-ion battery system, which helps mitigate the risk of compatibility issues that can plague third-party lift truck power solutions and enables reliable service and support by local Hyster dealers. That seamless, factory integration enables a unified view of truck and battery data, and targeted alerts about battery status that can affect overall lift truck performance, like low charge or high temperature. The lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry offers high energy density, superior temperature tolerance, consistent power delivery, no maintenance requirements, long lifespan and fast, flexible charging. Operators can simply plug the charging cable into the easy-access port – no need to open the forklift’s hood or take other steps to charge – and built-in interlock sensors prevent operators from moving the truck while connected to the charger. Earlier this year, the XTLG series forklifts won recognition from the 2026 SEAL Business Sustainability Awards. The Hyster integrated lithium-ion forklift was honored in the Sustainable Product Award category, alongside fast-growing innovators and global infrastructure and industrial leaders. In other regions, these trucks are known as the J2.0-3.5 XTLG, J4.0-5.0XTLG and J5.0-7.0XTLG.
