Strengthening the logistics network in Southern Europe Faster delivery thanks to improved cut-off times Lower CO2 emissions and optimised logistics costs Jungheinrich Service & Parts is strengthening its logistics network in Southern Europe. With the opening of the new Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) in Milan on 13 April 2026, the company is expanding its regional spare parts supply and setting another milestone for efficient, sustainable and cost-optimised after-sales logistics. The aim is to raise service levels, shorten response times and, at the same time, realise potential for both environmental and economic efficiency. The RDC Milan is a central component of the strategic development of the international Customer Service Logistics Network in Europe. Under the logistical leadership of Frank Knobloch, Director Logistics Jungheinrich, it will in future be responsible for supplying the Italian market with spare parts. Thanks to its regional proximity to the market, delivery routes will be shortened and the availability of spare parts in day-to-day operations further improved. Significantly improved cut-off times for technician orders Thanks to its regional proximity to the market, customers benefit from noticeably improved cut-off times. Orders can now be received into the evening and still be processed for dispatch on the same day. This enables faster delivery to service technicians and customers and significantly increases responsiveness in day-to-day operations. “With the RDC Milan, we are bringing our spare parts logistics closer to the market and laying the foundations for improved service levels. Later cut-off times and shorter distances enable us to respond more quickly and reliably to customer requirements,” says Kevin Strominski, Logistics Network Project Manager at Jungheinrich. Focus on sustainability: reduction in CO2 emissions A key advantage of the new site is the reduction in CO2 emissions: by shifting transport volumes to shorter distances, the RDC Milan makes a measurable contribution to Jungheinrich’s sustainability targets. The optimised network structure significantly reduces transport-related emissions compared to the previous supply solution. Lower logistics costs through an optimised network structure In addition to service and environmental aspects, the RDC Milan also delivers economic benefits. The optimised regional distribution reduces transport, handling and process costs whilst simultaneously increasing the predictability and stability of the supply chain. More efficient structures and demand-driven stock positioning enable sustainable cost advantages to be achieved in the long term – without compromising on quality or availability. A further step towards future-proof spare parts logistics With the RDC Milan, Jungheinrich is laying the foundations for modern, scalable and sustainable spare parts logistics in Southern Europe. The new site improves operational performance whilst supporting strategic objectives in the areas of customer focus, efficiency and sustainability.

The Pallet Saver from Broce Manufacturing is a rugged yet elegantly simple forklift attachment that significantly reduces pallet damage, extends pallet life, and lowers pallet repair and replacement costs in manufacturing, warehousing, and other material handling environments. An estimated 500 million pallets are discarded in the United States every year, many due to preventable impact damage from routine forklift handling. The Pallet Saver dramatically reduces impact forces during pallet engagement, resulting in a corresponding reduction in pallet damage. A replaceable rubber impact pad on the Pallet Saver aligns with a pallet’s center strut to absorb and redistribute impact forces from weaker deck boards to the pallet’s stronger center structure—helping prevent breakage and structural failure. Constructed from ½” heavy-duty welded steel, the Pallet Saver is made in the USA and constructed for long-term durability. It mounts easily to ITA Class II or Class III carriages and remains securely in place during normal operation, requiring no change in operator behavior. Four models are available in single- or double-pad configurations. In addition to direct cost savings, reducing pallet breakage also improves workplace safety by minimizing trip hazards from loose boards and debris and reducing downtime caused by manually transferring loads from damaged pallets. “Pallet damage is one of those hidden costs that adds up quickly,” said Broce spokesperson Nate Vance. “With the Pallet Saver, companies can take a simple, proactive step to protect their pallets, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.”

As facilities face growing challenges posed by aging central vacuum systems, Goodway Technologies is sharing a solution with their Regional Vacuum Systems, a modular, production‑line‑based approach to dust and debris extraction. For decades, facility managers have relied on central vacuum systems that were never designed for today’s production demands. Goodway Technologies was seeing reoccurring issues among customers including suction loss when tubing is extended, clogged lines, operators leaving hoses connected, and entire plants losing vacuum capability when a single central unit goes offline. With the introduction of NFPA 660, which limits vacuum hose length to 25 feet to ensure proper grounding and bonding, many older systems can no longer operate safely or compliantly. “Most of the central vacuum systems we see were installed years ago, and facilities are pushing them far beyond what they were designed for,” said Eric Potorski, Goodway Technologies Industrial Vacuum Specialist. “The Regional Vacuum System was created to give facilities a safer, more reliable, and more scalable alternative.” A Smarter, Modular Alternative to Central Vacuum Systems The Goodway Regional Vacuum System places a heavy-duty industrial vacuum in a strategic location and connects it to piping and vacuum drops throughout the facility. Instead of moving portable vacuums or running long hoses, teams have safe access points exactly where cleanup is needed. A central vacuum system consolidates all vacuuming capability into a single, facility-wide system, while a regional vacuum distribution system can be implemented in a single strategic zone, or multiple regional vacuum systems can be implemented across multiple strategic zones within a facility. The Regional Vacuum System breaks a facility into zones or production lines, each with its own dedicated vacuum source. This approach delivers: Hard tubing for long‑distance conveyance NFPA‑compliant 25’ hose drops Independent suction per system Balanced performance across all lines Scalability as production grows Dedicated hoses and tools per line to reduce cross‑contamination Many facilities are now installing one Regional Vacuum System per production line. For example, one customer deployed three independent systems—each with roughly 100 feet of tubing—to support three separate lines. This configuration enables: Multiple operators per line No suction loss across other lines Continued cleaning even if one system is offline The ability to disconnect and use the vacuum elsewhere when needed Built for Performance, Safety, and Compliance Every Regional Vacuum System is engineered with professionally sized tubing and fittings to ensure performance and NFPA compliance. Components are built using 16‑gauge mechanical tubing and are available in aluminum, zinc‑galvanized, or stainless steel, with smooth‑bore elbows and fittings designed to maximize flow and reduce material build‑up. The Regional Vacuum Systems are compatible with a wide range of Goodway Technologies industrial vacuums. These vacuums extend tubing runs up to 120 feet, support multiple simultaneous operators, and offer optional cyclones or dumping hoppers for increased capacity. The CD-series vacuums offer features that allow safe indoor operation without the need for expensive explosion venting. Operational Value This is more than a vacuum system, it’s an operational strategy. Maintenance on one system no longer shuts down the plant Expansion is modular instead of requiring major infrastructure replacement Capital costs are significantly lower than upgrading a full explosion‑vented central system

Combination of Bulk Flow Optimizer and SmartPath Singulator and Gapper provides field-proven, small-footprint alternative to singulators that require staffing Zero-operator singulation solution transforms 3D bulk flow of packages into a properly gapped, single-file stream – eliminating need for manual intervention before automated sorters Bulk Flow Optimizer meters package flow to eliminate stacked packages and instantaneous, uneven bursts of throughput that cause overfeeding of the downstream singulator and sorter Pairing Bulk Flow Optimizer together with SmartPath Singulator and Gapper delivers field-proven throughput of over 7,500 packages per hour Intralox® showcases an automated solution for zero-operator package singulation at MODEX 2026 in Atlanta, targeting the needs of postal and parcel facilities and e-commerce distribution centers. At booth B9913, the company is highlighting its Bulk Flow Optimizer™ and SmartPath™ Singulator and Gapper, which work in tandem to provide a fully automated solution to prepare incoming bulk package flow for automated sortation systems, delivering high throughput in a compact footprint. “If you look at singulation offerings for parcel hubs and e-commerce fulfillment centers, our zero-operator offering is unique for its combination of compact footprint, low price point and ability to actually meet performance requirements without an operator,” says Stephen Moseley, Sales Manager, Logistics Business Unit, Intralox. “Space and labor are two major forces that shape logistics operations, and this solution provides exceptional throughput and the flexibility to meet layout requirements, while reducing their exposure to a limited warehouse workforce.” The key to the compact footprint is SmartPath, an Activated Roller Belt™ (ARB™) solution that consolidates both singulation and gapping functions in a single, compact piece of equipment, preparing 2D bulk package flow to be merged into a single-file stream for an automated sorter. With a length of just 8 feet, SmartPath requires up to 42% less space compared to other solutions. It can also momentarily hold or slow packages to match induction rates to the downstream sorter, helping avoid jams and maximizing overall throughput with no manual intervention required. The Bulk Flow Optimizer fits earlier in the process, just ahead of SmartPath. It takes disorganized, 3D bulk flow directly from gaylord tippers or other upstream processes, and conditions them in a way that optimizes the performance of SmartPath. It removes vertical stacks to provide a 2D package flow, and meters package streams to smooth out uneven bursts that can overfeed the downstream singulator and sorter. This capability enables a zero-operator singulation process that provides relief from labor challenges and avoids the inconsistencies of manual processes, ultimately boosting singulator and sorter performance. Controls integration is a key component of the combined solution, with all logic for delayering, metering, buffering, singulation and gapping consolidated and fully tuned to work together. The zero operator singulation solution is a prime example of how the company’s technology integrates together seamlessly to provide maximum value. The Intralox bulk-to-sorted product line offers a range of solutions engineered to address the evolving needs of parcel and warehouse operations for induction, singulation, gapping and sortation.

More flexibility for system design With a new offer, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS provides more freedom in system design: A modular system comprising decentralised drive electronics and efficient motors offers full consistency. This is based on the NORDAC LINK and NORDAC ON frequency inverters, which now have identical communication and safety functions, making them flexible in use. The spacious intralogistics of e-commerce providers, parcel distribution centres or airports benefit from space-saving, decentralised drive solutions. However, planners often face challenges in their system design: If frequency inverters for wall mounting or motor mounting have different safety and communication properties, additional installations are needed. With its new modular system, NORD provides users with decentralised drive electronics for consistent use. Expanded communication and safety functions The modular system comprises the asynchronous IE3 and synchronous IE5+ motors from NORD, and two decentralised frequency inverters as the centrepiece: NORDAC ON in the power range from 0.37 to 3.7 kW for wall mounting and motor mounting, and NORDAC LINK for power ranges from 0.37 to 7.5 kW for wall mounting. Both have identical communication and safety functions that have been extensively expanded by NORD. Seamless integration into fail-safe applications The frequency inverters feature on-board Ethernet and are compatible with PROFINET and EtherCAT. Both NORDAC ON and NORDAC LINK can be integrated seamlessly into a fail-safe application via PROFIsafe or FSoE. An extended safety function package has already been integrated. STO and SS1-t (each in accordance with SIL3 / PLe) as well as SS1-r, SLS, SMS and SSM (each in accordance with SIL 2 / PLd) have no encoder. Thanks to safe inputs and outputs, fail-safe components such as emergency stop buttons or photoelectric sensors can be directly connected. Encoderless control of dynamic applications Also for dynamic applications, NORDAC ON and NORDAC LINK allow for encoderless control of the highly efficient IE5+ synchronous motors. The CFC open-loop injection method allows for a start-up with 150 % overload and implements more dynamic accelerations through short ramp times. The method achieves high energy efficiency, especially in the partial load range. As no encoder is required, the CFC open-loop injection control reduces material and installation costs. NORD-modular-system.jpg: NORD DRIVESYSTEMS offers a modular system with decentralised drive electronics and full consistency Lean system design with less wiring The new modular system provides users with more flexibility in system design. Thanks to the consistent functionality, they can easily choose between motor-mounted or wall-mounted frequency inverters. The integrated functions furthermore reduce wiring efforts, simplifying installation and maintenance. All in all, NORD thus ensures less complex, lean architectures with an extended performance scope.

Tolomatic, Inc. has announced the launch of the RSX50, the newest and most powerful member of the RSX Extreme Force family of electric linear actuators. The RSX50 delivers 50 tons of force in a frame footprint nearly identical to the RSX25, representing a significant leap in power density for high-force electric linear motion. The RSX series provides an electric alternative to hydraulic cylinders in industrial applications. Engineered around Tolomatic’s high-precision planetary roller screws, it delivers the force, reliability and environmental compliance that modern manufacturers demand without the mess, complexity and maintenance burden of hydraulics. The series achieves up to 66,000 pounds-force, 59-inch stroke lengths and speeds up to 30 in/sec. Built with Type III hard-coat anodized aluminum housings and an optional IP67 rating, these actuators perform reliably in the harshest environments. Where the RSX25 delivers 25 tons of force, the new RSX50 achieves 50 tons, doubling the force output with just a slightly larger frame. The new model is ideal for high-force applications where precise electric control is replacing legacy hydraulics, including metalforming, such as pressing, punching and stamping, as well as timber processing and injection molding. Key advantages of the RSX platform include: Precise, measurable force control for improved productivity, quality and repeatability. Zero-leak, green design, eliminating hydraulic fluid, reducing scrap and ensuring environmental compliance. Lower total cost of ownership through lower energy consumption and simplified maintenance. Roller screw technology engineered for high-force, high-cycle industrial duty. Consistent performance across wide operating temperature ranges.
