Nissan Forklift Corporation announced that its 200,000th forklift rolled off the manufacturing line at its Marengo, Illinois facility in 2011. The 200,000th forklift, a Platinum II 3,500-pound Cushion I.C. forklift, is owned and operated by TM Logistics. TM Logistics is a subsidiary of Hodge Company, Nissan Forklift’s local authorized dealer. Both are located in Dubuque, Iowa.

Nissan Forklift began manufacturing forklifts in the United States in 1988. It took 14 years for Nissan Forklift to produce its first one hundred thousand forklifts, but only about half that time to produce the second hundred thousand.

An award was presented to TM Logistics during a special celebration attended by the three companies to commemorate Nissan Forklift’s 200,000th lift truck milestone in Dubuque, IA on March 14.

“This is a significant milestone for Nissan Forklift,” said Tony Salgado, vice president of manufacturing operations at Nissan Forklift Corporation. “We are very proud of our transformation over the past decade. As an organization, we have become significantly more effective and efficient in delivering value to our market, while serving and respecting our employees and the community.”

T M Logistics was established in 1985 as a subsidiary of Hodge Company, TM Logistics provides third party logistics services. Its services include local courier services, distribution labor services, and logistics services nationwide while maintaining the original value added manufacturing services.

Hodge Company was established in 1958 by Walter J. Hodge. Initially as Hodge Transit Warehouse Company its purpose was to provide public warehousing and distribution services to regional and national manufacturers. Hodge Company specializes in material handling and forklift sales and service.  Hodge became a Nissan Forklift dealer in September, 2010.
