In the wake of Hurricane Irene, the American Logistics Aid Network will soon be requesting support of loaned material handling equipment.
MHEDA is one of twelve organizations who are founding members of the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN). As part of ALAN, MHEDA is currently assisting with disaster relief efforts following the recent hurricane. MHEDA has been informed that the Red Cross of Connecticut is looking for:
• Two forklifts and two pallet jacks for a warehouse they will open early this week (Mon/Tues) for Hurricane Irene response. The Red Cross will need the items for at least four weeks. Donated is preferred. The warehouse location is to be determined but will be somewhere around Middlesex County.
If you have equipment you would like to loan, please contact Kathy Fulton, Director of Operations, American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) at 863 668-4238 or email Kathy@ALANaid.org.
ALAN's relief needs web portal serves as a clearinghouse for supply chain expertise, products, equipment, and services such as transportation, warehousing and material handling. Needs for these resources are posted on the portal in times of crisis. Whether a company can provide industry expertise, supplies, vehicles to haul them or local warehouse space to store them, it can match its resources with regional needs through the ALAN web portal.
