Exel, Mopar project earns Chrysler Environmental Leadership Award

Exel, its partners at Chrysler’s Mopar brand and other dedicated transportation providers, have earned the prestigious Chrysler Environmental Leadership Award for extraordinary innovation and dedication to reducing the environmental impact of the company's products and facilities. Mopar is Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer care brand. The collaborative project, which redesigned the dedicated delivery service (DDS) to dealers, set goals to reduce environmental impact, cut costs and improve service. The award came in the Product Related Environmental Protection category for achievement of significant results in each area, including:

  • Eliminating approximately 7,300 metric tons of CO2 by eliminating more than 4.6 million miles in delivery routes to save more than 722,000 gallons of fuel
  • Reducing costs by a total of $8.1 million in logistics, fuel and services
  • Improving service, including on-time deliveries, order response times and reduced complexity.

Exel, which operates 7 of 12 Mopar DDS networks across the country, played an important role in achieving the project’s goals by redesigning delivery routes to reduce miles driven, thus saving fuel and slashing greenhouse emissions.
