"Newsweek's ranking of Johnson Controls recognizes the commitment we have to environmental stewardship in all three of our businesses," commented Stephen Roell, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. "With our origins dating back to Warren Johnson's invention of the first electric thermostat over 125 years ago, we always have been focused on energy conservation. Our offerings now span retrofitting buildings to make them more energy efficient to developing advanced hybrid battery technology for vehicles. This ranking by Newsweek underscores the focus and dedication of our 140,000 employees around the world."
