Inmar Reverse Logistics, a provider of reverse logistics and supply chain management solutions, announced that it has been named a 2009 Top 70 3 PL Provider by Food Logistics. According to the publication's editors, the 3PLs selected offer a broad scope of services and capabilities that enable food companies to reduce costs, increase flexibility and improve service levels. Inmar Reverse Logistics was also named to the list in 2008.
"Food and beverage companies and their third-party logistics counterparts are discovering win-win successes being felt throughout the supply chain, right into the back offices of financials, sales, marketing and IT," said Katherine Doherty, editor-in-chief of Food Logistics magazine. She added that, "Selecting the right 3PL is vital to the success of a company's overall operations, it's a long-term commitment." The listing appears in the July/August issue of Food Logistics.
The publication states that it created this listing to help its readers find and evaluate 3PL partners that can help them achieve their goals.
"While there is very real opportunity to reduce costs through increased supply chain efficiency, food companies in particular must ensure that modifications do not adversely impact food chain safety or brand integrity," said Mark Doughton, Inmar Reverse Logistics president. According to Doughton, "A third-party provider must have expertise not only in building efficient supply chain processes, but also in regulatory compliance, recall management and overall food safety. As the logistics and supply chain partner to the world's leading manufacturers and retailers, we are pleased to be listed by Food Logistics as a top provider."
